This is a charming old hotel. It is clear that what can be done within the confines of the building structure, to keep up with modern needs, has been done. However, if you require the refinements of a modern hotel this is not going to tick your requirement boxes. Notably, as a couple one of whom has limited mobility, for us the room we were given was much smaller than a modern counterpart and did cause us some difficulties. The staff were very helpful, particularly in providing the loan when I discovered I had inadvertantly brought the wrong type of charger for our devices, including the mobility scooter. I did note that there are two dedicated electric charging spaces at the rear of the hotel. These were much in demand, and we only saw them in unoccupied once.

If arriving by train in Alingsas, the Grand Hotel’s location can’t be beaten. Our room was very quiet except for the sound of the squeaky elevator passing the third floor. The housekeeping staff keep the hotel spotless. Other pluses include a comfy bed and a kettle in the room. I love staying in older hotels with charm and character. The Grand Hotel has this in spades.

It was tidy and quiet

Really lovely old hotel within 3 minutes walk of the station. Spacious and comfortable and lovely staff. Slightly limited dinner menu but what we ate was delicious and good quality. Fabulous breakfasts too and comfy beds after walking the Gotaleden trail.

Great hotel! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the rooms were clean and well maintained. Definitely returning to this hotel.

First time in Sweden. Check In staff was so helpful and changed our room to accommodate us. A beautiful historic hotel. Highly recommend.

Good place which I always stay during biz trip.

Absolutely lovely hotel, staff was incredibly nice. Breakfast buffet was excellent. My stay was a quick business visit, but after staying there i intend to go back to the Alingsäs Grand for a personal trip. Wonder historic hotel and charming town!

A nice old property,

Location of the property is at the very center of the city - probably 2min away walking from the train station. Room very clean, and staff very friendly. Only downside I had with my room is that it feels a bit old and the water coming out from the basin is not hot enough - the water for bath no issues and very hot.

Overall a good stay. Breakfast was very good and parking convenient.

Very close to town square, and vegan options at buffet!

Det var otroligt kallt i rummet trots att värmen var satt till det högsta. Frös hela natten. I övrigt var själva hotellet bra och personalen trevlig!
