Toilet sit was shattered. There were bugs in the room. The floor was coming apart. Stains in the sheets and walls and curtains. Homeless people outside the door with trash. Took a video but it won’t let me post it.

I booked a non-smoking room. But the room smelled like stale cigarettes and strong urine smells which hurt our eyes. We couldn’t stay and returned the keys right away and submitted a refund request. Other recent reviews are bad also. I strongly suggest that Expedia should drop this property from its list which damage its reputation and confidence in consumers definitely.

This motel is very filthy. The has roaches, dirty towels and rag, a piece of dump was in the sink down the drain so everytime you turn on the water it's a foul smell, the air filters in the unit blew stink air into the room. the front desk girl who's dark skin heavy set with glasses is young and rude and wanted to argue. I would NEVER stay at the west Ashley inn again in my life even if it was free.

This place is roach infested. Dirty and when you object your met with " I will give you refund find another place". Mind you if you pay with a debit card the money does not come back for 7 to 10 days.

Location, staff, and room were all great.

Roaches and dirty everything

This place is disgusting. Not clean what so ever. Very unsafe, there was cops trying to break up a potential shooting just the one night we were there. There was a creepy note in my friends room and looked like blood on the walls. We booked non smoking and the lady at the front said they only had smoking but there was no availability left in Charleston for one night. Absolutely do not stay at this place. It's so unsafe and so disgusting!

You get what you pay for honestly

Towels were dirty and bed sheets were ripped and stained. This hotel appears to be a former motel 6.

Unless you bring your crack with you, you will not fit in. This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever seen. Do not stay here.

Flophouse for homeless people. Trying to check in and 911 gets called and the police arrive for something. Wouldn't recommend taking my kids or anything expensive there. Nasty place, and the manager couldn't even be found except over at McDonald's next door to them. Disgusting place

Reserved a non-smoking room but got a smoking room.Had roaches crawling everywhere.

We only stayed one night, our second day we came back around 6 pm and by 9 pm i had to call the police because people were threatening to come in to our room. They were banging on the door so hard that the saftey latch came off the door. The police did not come to help, and the office ignored our phone calls until we had someone else call on our behalf. The worst motel room i have ever stayed in. Beside the events described above, there was cigarette burns in the linens all the way down to the mattress, the toliet seat was busted and kept falling off, the water was disgusting, there was mold in the fridge, and the TV looked to have a burn mark in the screen. My husband and i have never felt as unsafe as we did the two days we stayed here.

Extremely dirty room, cockroaches everywhere.

We booked a non-smoking room that has clearly been smoked in, the smell was horrible. The cleaniness of the room was horrible. The bathroom had cockroaches and you can see where someone was putting out their cigarettes on the toilet paper holder. We tried calling the front desk about a room change where they didn't answer. We refused to even stay the night and instead drive home.

I booked the room with low expectations and they did not meet even those. I requested a non smoking room and didn’t get one because they were “booked out” (doubtful). The room reeked of smoke to the point of making me feel ill. Even aside from that, the pictures of the room online were completely misleading: there were stains and burn marks on the wall, the bedclothes were clearly dirty, and there was mold and dirt all over the bathroom. The front desk did offer a partial refund but truthfully a full refund was in order given the state of that room.

Non smoking room but the toilet paper holder in the bathroom was full of cigarette burns from customers putting their cigarettes out on it. Cockroach on the walls. Very dirty, people loitering everywhere. Felt super unsafe. Abandoned the room after 15 minutes. Wasted my time and money.
