Room was nice, but had a few problems like the sliding door difficult to close, tv was broken, bugs in the bathroom. Lots of road noise in room 205 and 206. Location was great. g Great pool and beach. Next door restaurants/bars had greatfood and fun.

The room was beautiful. Very clean. But it is right on the highway and we heard traffic and noise all night.

My 2 week stay was great staying here the location was ideal the grounds were well maintained the staff, very friendly and helpful hotel car service was top notch = on time for pickup and my return to airport stopping at his recommended soda for breakfast i plan on returning in March I never wrote a review but this hotel i felt needed to be publicly appreciated

The room was clean and in very good condition. However, there were a couple of notable exceptions. There are two switches in the bathroom, one for the light and one for the ventilation fan. The switch for the vent fan does not seem to work as there is no vent fan in the ceiling. There is a round white plate in the ceiling where a vent fan may have been. Between the bunk beds and the queen bed, there is a single double switch on the wall. One must be for a Zombie repellent and the other is a Chupacabra repellent. They worked very well as I did not see any Zombies or Chupacabras while there. Some of the wood furniture could use a touch up pen due to wear. The staff were very nice and helpful. I would recommend to visit, as I plan to stay there again.

Location was amazing!! Right on the beach. Walking distance to excellent dining!

Clean rooms great staff. Very relaxing and quiet

The hotel is simple, it is clean and it is accesible. It is a pretty place and a nice beach for surfing. It is not one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches, but to see friends and spend some time close to the city, this place is very nice.

Small parking lot with a gate, kind of a pain. Right off main highway noisy. Positive is it’s right on Playa Hermosa so good place for solid waves to share with locals and gringo boomers who are glad to tell you how long they’ve been coming down there ;)

Can’t say enough good words about this place. Right on the ocean, great break right out in the back yard. Walkable to several restaurants down the beach. Will absolutely be coming back.

Staff were great, perfect for a couple days at the beach. Two-three restaurants and a minisuper in walking distance.

The photos accurately depict the property. Casual environment with a limited number of rooms provide a quiet retreat right at the beach. There are a few restaurants conveniently located near by but downtown Jaco is a short drive away.

Property was great. Nice pool, comfortable beds. Cold air. Safe. There is no restaurant or bar on property. You have to walk a short distance to other hotels if you want to eat. Good experience

Great spot for surfing and fun on the beach! The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were helpful and attentive. Beautiful place.

The Backyard hotel was a quaint, quiet, and well kept property right on the beach and within walking distance to a few dining options. We really enjoyed our stay!

This property is very well kept, Draco one of the dogs loves playing with Sticks. My son had the best time playing with him. The breakfast they cooked and delivered to the room was fresh and amazing. Close to the town.
