It was obvious that the hotel made half hearted upgrades over the long years that it has been in service. It's a beautiful hotel, with a long history and an incredible location. It deserved better renovations over the years. I would still stay here again. Merida is an amazing city and this hotel is at it's historic heart.

Really old , they need to remodel everything!!!!

It was a bit loud at night be did not stop us from sleeping good it kind of helped. Staff was amazing lots to do around the area.

Very nice hotel located in downtown Merida. Very quiet, very old and inspiring.

No elevator. No generator in 3 blackouts. No working water vending in hotel. Water not drinkable in merida. Bedbugs the last 2 days

Amenities few in hotel, no restaurant , Starbucks located at front of building and many restaurants close. Don’t expect room service. Walking for all sites

The hotel has an antique style , it is very nice and clean . The beds are confortable and with a/c in each room. I feel this hotel in in the center of the old downtown and the modern colonial downtown. The staff is great, taxis I needed they could schedule it for me on time . Also safe environment. I do recommend this hotel. Nice experience.

Grand old hotel in Merida historic center. Full of antiques. Updated bathrooms. Friendly helpful staff.

I really loved staying at Gran Hotel de Merida. It was such a unique experience staying in such a beautiful historic hotel in the best location in the city. I stayed for four nights and the staff was amazing and I really appreciated all the attention to details you can see around the hotel. For example the light from the inside courtyard makes a beautiful pattern on your wall at night when it goes through the door. Anyways I would highly recommend the Gran hotel de Merida and I will absolutely be staying there again in the future.

Me gustó mucho el hotel porque soy amante de lo antiguo y me imaginé bajando sus escalinatas hacia la planta baja vestida con un atuendo de la época. Merida es muy caluroso durante el verano pero el hotel cuenta con aire acondicionado. Hay varias opciones para comer y al caminar por las calles del centro puedes observar los edificios antiguos.cuenta con varios teatros que ofrecen eventos gratuitos y de paga. La Catedral de San Ildefonso es imponente.

Parkikg is inconvebient because its like 2 blocks away and you cant just pull up in front of the hotel because its a historic street with no car access. But the place is gorgeous. I'd stay there again. The decor is very antiquish but beautiful

El Gran Hotel - Beautiful, historical, lots of detail in the building and furnishings. The staff was very nice and helpful at all times. With the hotel, being in Mérida Centro, it is nice to walk to the garden, the Cathedrals, the Vaqueria and Jarana, traditional dances, on Monday and much more. I would recommend this hotel.

This property is an excellent place to stay, very affordable and a great location.

Property was clean with friendly staff. Location was perfect close to lots of food options

The hotel itself was amazing, definitely colonial and old world. Even though it’s an old hotel, the AC was the best! Especially in the hot weather. The staff were very nice and helpful. The only downside about it which is why it didn’t get full stars was the bathroom in our room. With the amount of space we had it was a tiny little closet space. Barely had space to move around.
