The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We really felt welcomed and safe and they even allowed us a late checkout due to our tour running late. I would absolutely stay here again!

It was a very nice hotel in a tiny town. Big spacious room, lovely patio, comfy king bed. Good value. The town is so remote there is no bank or ATM machine, yet the hotel was very comfortable and pleasant. Free bottomless coffee in the morning! 1 block from the waterfront. Would definitely stay there again if ever in the area.

I was very disappointed with this hotel! First morning no hot water, second morning no water at all, the staff was not very interested in doing anything about it. No hangers in the closet, when I asked staff they looked at me if I had three eyes, I said I wanted 10 hangers, after about 5 hours they came up with 3, I could go on but what’s the point!! At another hotel that I went to breakfast I was casually talking to a woman and I mentioned that I was staying at Tabasco Rio and how terrible it was, well it turned out that her family own it and she was very disappointed in what I had to tell her, she planed on addressing the issues I pointed out in an email to her, she also planned to give me a refund, I’m in contact with her, hopefully we can sort something out....

A great spot - central in town - a couple blocks from the waterfront on three sides! Our room even had a view of the lagoon where we could see fantastic sunsets. The bed in the room was a very generous size, and shampoo, towels and other basics were provided. The air conditioning worked well, although the open air vent in our bathroom was not able to be shut - which meant we couldn’t control the temperature in that space. The staff were very helpful, and with our limited Spanish we managed basic communication. Would definitely stay here again.

I think it's the best choice in Rio Lagartos so far. This hotel needs a serious renovation. But what can you expect for $40. The hotel has clean sheets but smelly towels, uncomfortable beds, air-conditioning that works, 2 bottled waters and toiletries. This is not a tourist town, it is a fishing town that has recently seen the advantages of tourism. Expect improvements in the future. A new high-end hotel is being built a couple of blocks away. It's nice to see towns before tourism takes over. The eco tour we took through the hotel was excellent! That's if you like seeing Great Blue Herons, very Pink Flamingos, pink lakes, crocodiles and tons of other exotic birds and wildlife. Get there before it's spoiled!

Inexpensive, good place to stay with all the basics. Hotel employees want to sell you their pelican-sight-seeing trip right away.

The staff at the hotel are excellent and were very helpful in getting us information on tours, suggesting restaurants, and even showing us where to buy ice. The room was nice, clean, and of pleasing decor. The difficult part was the location. It is right on the square, and both nights that we were there, a local party was occurring. On Friday night, there was a quinceañera, and the music went until 4:00am. While I doubt it is this way all of the time, I also don't know how one would predict such occurrences prior to arrival. Therefore, if you want to guarantee a quieter night, something away from the square would likely be a better location.

Very good front desk personnel, very friendly and responsive. Room was clean, and all was in good working order: shower, A/C, etc. Only comment would be that the lounge area in the center atrium is a noisy area pretty much all day long, with people talking loudly and children playing although it did quiet down around 10 pm, which isn't so late.

This place is amazing, and it's not that touristic. The hotel it seems nice compared to other buildings in the area. The bedroom has a decent air conditioning, so it helps... cause it's very warm. But the room cleanliness is not as a good as one would expect, cause we found some animals. We are unaware if that's a problem of the area or... it might be. But still. It's not very nice to find that. For the sourroundings i think its a good option.

The hotel was nice and well located, the staff was helpfull to find a place to eat. The room was clean and well furbished. However, I had to go to the lobby at 1am to ask to staff to be less noisy (playing videogames) and they woke us up at 7am by talking very lound.

A very basic but inexpensive hotel... one of only 3 in town. If you don't plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel you will be totally satisfied. There is no food here, but plenty in the neighborhood.

It is a small but nice hotel. Seems like it has been remodeled but still lacks some basics. Bath room amenities are very poor, water in the second floor rooms is a big issue, no pressure at all from the shower. Over all it was a nice stay, owners let us keep the room for 2 extra hours so we could take the morning flamingo tour. Location is great, right next to the city hall.
