Relays Sant’Elena was a piece of heaven! Luxurious and beautiful surroundings and caring staff who went above and beyond in every way, allowed for the most relaxing and special stay. I can’t wait to return!

We did not like: Their mountain bikes were poorly maintained. (Gears did not work at all smoothly, or reliably. Brakes were weak.) We are cyclists. We requested a short route. They suggested a 1 hour trail and we returned in 3 1/2. The trail was NOT for bicycles. NOT bikeable. Very unsafe. Large gravel, rocks strewn everywhere along the path, no stability or traction, therefore requiring getting off the bikes and walking. Ridiculous. Ruined our morning and our subsequent afternoon plans. We were glad we did not have an accident. The bed mattress needed to be replaced. We 'slid' to the centre. The maitre d's attitude at dinner was one of indifference. We were craning our necks for service. However, he seemed to be pleasant to some tables. We got his indifference. We did like: The location. The quiet. The breakfast was excellent.

This was our first stop on our 2 week trip in Tuscany. This was an unbelievably high bar to set- we loved everything about this property!! It’s perfectly located just outside of town, with easy access roads to the beach or the winery area. Very quiet with a stunning view. The pool and dining area are beautiful and just a few steps from the rooms. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We did the cooking class and had a ball, took away so many great tips. The food for breakfast and dinner is also fantastic. We loved it here and would recommend it to everybody (except those traveling with kids, this is adults only).

It’s the third visit our family have made to this hotel and it certainly won’t be the last. Their attention to detail and care for their clients is excellent, especially during this current pandemic. Every area from the room to the dining facilities was well planned and executed, we were even allocated a specific area at the pool.

Excellent in every way. I cannot fault this hotel at all. After travelling for over 35 years and staying in dozens of hotels all round the world, this would be my favourite place to stay - and why, because it delivers above and beyond its offer. One is treated as a real guest and not like a number. The service is personal and delivered in a way that makes one feel at home and relaxed - there's no pretence. Will be back either later this year but definitely next year.

I cannot rave enough about Relais Sant'Elena!!! Over the course of our 18 day vacation we stayed at several hotels and this one stands at the top. It may well be one of my favorite places I've ever stayed at anywhere in the world! The pampering started the moment we arrived. We barely got out of the car and there was a kind young man out to help us with our luggage and he escorted us to our room. Our room was clean, comfortable and just precious. We were also given a tour of the grounds then chose to have a late lunch. The public spaces are beautifully appointed and comfortable. There's plenty of seating for all the guests as its a fairly small resort. They also have private seating areas tucked in little spaces at various places around the grounds. The best part of the resort are the people. Always smiling and willing to help! It was a really cool week so we didn't opt to use the pool but it is a nice size with lots of lounge chairs and a couple of hot tubs. We did have a massage and it was heavenly. I ended up going back to the room and took a two hour nap afterwards. The chef at Relais Sant'Elena is a genius. We ended up eating every breakfast and dinner at the resort and a few lunches. I can't even tell you which meal was our favorite. They use a lot of food that they grow in their garden and its fun to see how creative they get with it. The meals we had here were hands down the best of our entire holiday!

Relais Sant' Elena exceeded our expectation. This is a true getaway "Under the Tuscan Sun". The staff is very welcoming and at your service. If you want to escape the tourists and just relax, this is the place to be. There some some small towns close by that you can visit and enjoy Tuscany without the crowds. The food is delicious. It's like "nonna's" home cooking. If we lived in Europe we would go there at least once a year. Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.

YOU MUST BOOK HERE! Relais Sant'Elena is like something out of a movie or a dream and the pictures do not do it justice. Stunning. Even at the beginning of October when the weather was starting to turn I cannot imagine a more picturesque place to stay. The staff were delightful, the food was out of this world and the room was gorgeous. Every little detail was thought through from the decor to recommendations and rooms with private terraces. The highlight was the locally sourced food and wine, most of which you could see being grown out of the window as you tuck into the delicious dinners. We particularly loved being able to cook some of this produce during a private cooking class which made our stay that extra bit special. I cannot finish this review without mentioning the breakfast - you will never have seen anything like it, I had to go back for seconds and thirds, everything homemade and mouthwatering! One last note, we only stayed for two nights (however we hope to return) and did not have a hire car which was fine as we were happy to kick back and relax but if you are staying for longer I would recommend having a hire car so that you can explore the beautiful surrounding areas.

Sant Elena was absolutely perfect. The people who work there are wonderful. The guest rooms and the entire property is absolutely stunning and magical. If you really want to experience Tuscany and all it’s beauty, this is a must. The food was farm to table and all local. It was the best meals we had on our Italy trip.
