The check in was easy. The hotel has a lot going on but none of it is authentic Tibetan. Most staff is chinese, most stuff is not Tibetan artisan made it is factory Chinese made trying to look Tibetan. I would love to see this hotel being more authentic then it would be fabulous. As it is it is simply a nice hotel.

A very good five star hotel that makes you feel at home and as if you were in Tibet. Slept very well and the staff is very attentive and makes sure your stay in comfortable. It's in a good location close to the center of the city and close enough to visit the sites by taxi or by subway. Lots of good food nearby also. We actually cancelled another hotel we were going to visit to stay in this one for another night.

Nice location about 5 minute walk from Subway. Always cabs available outside of hotel. Nice breakfast included with many western and Asian styled options. The BEST pillows I have ever slept on in my life. Perfectly fluffy and the softest cases. I slept so well in my room. Bathroom had nice amenities (body lotion, dental kit, shaving kit, etc.). Air conditioning didn't get as cold as I would have liked but other than that everything was great!

The hotel was very hospitable, especially with its nice and large bathroom. The bathtub and shower booth were separated, and provided me with some outside view. I loved the huge and comfortable bath towels, too. Intriguingly, the TV can "spin" to the side of the bathtub, and you can watch it while staying relaxed there -- a nice twist of the Buddhist practice! As soon as arriving in the room, a cup of tea was served by a lady, which made me feel welcomed. The large work desk and the comfortable double bed were perfect for me as well. However, I couldn't figure out how to turn the light on in the area where a couch and an ottoman were placed. Except this goof that was perhaps my fault, my four-night stay was very pleasant, together with the very satisfactory Tibetan-themed breakfast.

This hotel was great for the location! We enjoyed the big mall that's 5 minutes walk away from it. It was also not far from the subway station (close to that mall). The taxi trip from the hotel to the panda reserve was only 35 RMB. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast! Its complimentary breakfast was so elaborate we felt spoiled with the endless number of choices! We really enjoyed starting our mornings in such a relaxing way. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The bathtub was a nice addition, but a little bit on the smaller side. One problem was the AC in the room was too warm even if it's left on at its lowest setting. Also, the housekeeping staff would still clean up our room when we left the "do not disturb" sign on. Other than those issues, we'd stay here again for the location and breakfast.

I stayed at the Tibet Hotel from Sept 3rd to 7th. It has the flavor of Tibet. It's very convenient to get a Taxi or subway or city bus. Room was clean and they also sent some unique afternoon tea/special soup etc. The free breakfast for 2 was very decent with many choices. In the evening, Tibetan singers sang their folk songs in the lobby tea place, unforgettable experience. The hotel staff were friendly and the price is fairly reasonable.

The rooms were very nice indeed. Very clean. And truly non-smoking which was wonderful. The only issue we had is the hotel's inability to communicate via email. The staff worked hard to help us with arrangements and that was great too.

Few of the staff spoke any English, and without some knowledge of Chinese I would have been completely left to my own means. The location is far from any sites of interest (those few that actually exist in Chengdu), but most taxi drivers did know it and were able to take me there easily. This is not a place to stay if you are visiting Chengdu for leisure, as it caters mostly to Chinese and some int'l businesspeople. The rooms are bland, and the quality of beds/bedding quite poor. I do not recommend staying here, and be wary of 4 star rating--it doesn't go that far in China.

We stayed for 1 night. We were family of 4 - 2 adults & 2 children. We had a king bed with 1 folding bed. Room was not large but quite adequate. Beautiful decor, excellent service and breakfast had a mix of western and chinese - food was very good. We taxied everywhere so not sure of exact location. Found Chinese market near by which was quite interesting and fun. Staff were extremely helpful in every way. Definately recommended

Tibet Hotel was very accommodating. Our prepaid reservation was not communicated to hotel. In spite of being technically sold out they gave us a room for the two days it took to resolve the reservation issue via email from China.
