We chose AlpenHotel Fischer because of its advertised four-star rating, but our stay was disappointing. Although the location is excellent and our room was spacious, it felt outdated and had a strong musty, moldy odor throughout our stay. The hotel is in need of refurbishment and better ventilation. Parking is free but extremely limited with very tight spaces. The biggest disappointment was breakfast. There was no one at the entrance to greet or seat guests, so we chose an available table overlooking the mountains. As we finished breakfast, we were told we were sitting at the wrong table and were moved to a separate windowless dining room with a noticeable musty smell. We later learned the main dining area was reserved for half-board guests, but this policy was never explained at check-in. While getting water, my husband overheard a staff member remark, "Americans," while shaking her head. We reported the incident to the front desk. Sabrina handled the situation professionally and explained the seating policy, but the experience left a very negative impression. After returning home, we found older reviews describing similar experiences, including American guests being seated in the same musty room while the main dining area remained largely empty. The hotel's location near Eagle's Nest, Wimbachklamm, and Lake Königssee is excellent, and both Sabrina and Raphael at the front desk were courteous and helpful. Stayed three nights. Great location to walk to the Berchtesdgaden HBF station and get around the area. Clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Very quiet and relaxed overall. Restaurant was very good as well

Room was very clean, staff were very nice, balcony has great view, excellent breakfast, nothing we don’t like! Oh , and the half board dinner was excellent, for €29 per person you get 3 court dinner plus salads bar, deluoabd well presented!

Nice hotel, excellent staff, and nice continental breakfast. Did not have air condition or washer/dryer as advertised in Expedia. Did not know adult only meant clothing optional in pool/sauna and had a 14/17 year old booked with us prior to adult only. Would have appreciated knowing this.

This is the second time we have stayed here, and it keeps getting better! If you are looking for a quaint authentic German mountain hotel this is what you want! They are friendly and the breakfast is amazing! I highly recommend!

We were very pleased with our stay.

We only stayed one night while coming back from a longer trip, but I'm glad we picked this place. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The sauna and pool area was superb. We ate breakfast and dinner there, and both were great. I also loved how pet-friendly they were, and how convenient the location was to the Eagle's Nest. I also appreciated the city discount card they provided.

Out dated interior, parking area left expensive cars to close together, breakfast ok, but hurried out after 10:00 am staff were a little rude.

Very good food selections on offer for breakfast and dinner. Beds not particularly comfortable, a lot of traffic noise from road nearby.

The hotel provides exceptional customer service, breakfast is delicious and plentiful, and location is ideal. Excellent pool and outdoor seating areas. Our balcony had a bright light directed at it, so it was difficult to enjoy the views and cool weather at dawn. There are hotels in the area that may provide better views but this hotel provides a lot of extras (pool, massages, parking, breakfast, great customer service) that are hard to beat. Nearby Italian restaurant with great food... worth the wait! I will definitely book again due to its value.

Friendly helpful staff we celebrated our silver wedding anniversary and they had rose petals on the table for dinner time and complementary glass of Prosecco, lovely hotel

Nothing “wrong” with this hotel.... but it was expensive. If you can stay at Hotel Bavaria, I highly recommend it.

Easy walking distance from the train station with a small carry on roller bag. Very nice and helpful staff. They quickly provided hot water when requested for tea and held our bags after checking out. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. Pool was warm and comfortable. Hotel provided a card to cover local bus transportation.

We enjoyed the newly renovated room, and the breakfast was fantastic. Easy location within town; walkable to some destinations, but recommend driving to the town center.

It was a great hotel in the area! The pool area is nice and is walking distance to everything within the city! The only downside to the hotel is depending on the time of year there is no air conditioning. We went in the summer and it was a little hot. Overall though everything about the hotel was great and everyone was very helpful!!!!!
