Recently stayed at this property. We had the Apartment booked and it didn't disappoint. Lots of attention to detail and amenities like dishwasher, washer/dryer etc really helped. Centrally located. Breakfast spread was decent as well. Would definitely stay again.

Everything will be amazing there once the construction of a new hotel directly across the street is completed. They had the shell up and were installing windows and the roof the first week of July 2025 so expect early morning noise until it's completed.

We had a great stay. The hotel is well located within walking distance to the botanic garden and shopping street. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable and toiletries are top notch. Breakfast area is compact but you can bring your food out to the spacious and pleasant lobby area. Staff were helpful and flexible.

We stayed in the new building, so everything was clean, new, and modern. They served a wonderful breakfast. Parking is a bit slim and we ended up parking almost a 1/4 mile away from the entrance. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would go back.

The breakfast included was excellent. Staff were lovely and helpful. Single room was very small but no complaints as it was great that they had single rooms. Also the room had a great view over the fjord. Highly recommended.

The hotel was beautiful, the beds were comfortable, and most importantly the black out curtains were great! They are so necessary for the summer months. Couldn’t recommend this stay more!

Absolutely loved the vibe of this hotel with a great social lobby perfectly located in the heart of Akureyri. Staff was super customer focused. For us Americans they have ice in all drinks including water. Wonderful happy hour. The restaurant North which is the sister restaurant to the Michelin star Dill in Reykjavik is in this hotel, make sure to book ahead. Book a room on the back side and it is super quiet. You may want to upgrade to a suite as the rooms are retro NYC sized, but a real king not two twins. You do have a refrigerator and safe in the room so while compact it has everything. Like the La Occitane amenities and they do have hair conditioner as well. Morning breakfast is continental. Very close to the Forest Lagoon and you can walk to the church. Definitely would stay here again.

Location is excellent, walking to the town and near by restaurants and many attractions. Breakfast area small and could not accommodate all guests at the same time.

Had a lovely stay at the Hotel Akureyri. The place is really nicely decorated, beds very comfortable and the included breakfast was prefect before our long drive back to Reykjavik.

Loved the history of the property. The lobby & happy hour were excellent. Friendly staff, easy parking, great views & location to restaurants. Some construction going on nearby, but overall excellent experience.

Perfect location close to the water and walkable to the main shopping area and restaurants within 5 minutes on the flat (which was ideal in the ice/snow as the hills looked slippery) The hotel has been beautifully decorated, the included breakfast was great and the basic double room was plenty big enough. Will be recommending to anyone I know if they travel to Akureyri.

It was a good stay for overall except the room was extremely small and we could find any space to open even our luggage properly. Besides of that the hotel staff, location, cleanliness was terrific and i cannot say any negative things about it

I would like to recommend this hotel because of the experiences I lived here during my stay. I booked a whale watching tour and the following day I saw the whale from the comfort of my hotel room. The hotel itself is cozy, clean, warm and I had my room being looked after daily (tea, coffee, towels). Be prepared to sit at breakfast table with other guests and share the travel experience, as the restaurant is quite small. Enough breakfast options to fuel the day. Walkable distance from town centre, bus station and even airport if you're keen.
