Really impressed with this motel. Close to everything, easy check in and parking, spacious clean room and really friendly staff. Basic breakfast included was so convenient. I thought it would be noisy but with the door shut I didn’t hear any road traffic at all. Would stay here again for sure.

This motel is a preserved relic of what motels were like in NZ during my first visits ca. 1987-1990. Very misleading photos. Next to busy road, pretty rough condition. Single person was working that day and was clearly overwhelmed by it. Furniture was in pretty bad shape. Cannot see the TV from the queen bed. Was way overpriced too, but this was likely due to Te Matatini going on in New Plymounth, every room in Hawera and NP was taken

Easy to find. Value for money

The unit itself was adequate for our needs. Unfortunately with the current closure of state highway 1 heavy traffic had been re routed and went right past this property. We booked and paid for 3 nights but left after one night as we virtually had no sleep.

Great 4 hour trip up river in the Waimarie paddle steamer - excellent!

It was conveniently located

Such a shame the road noise was loud all night and I did not sleep well because of it. This was the only mark down for the property. Realises something was off when I saw the packs of earplugs in the dresser. Otherwise it was a very nice place.

Great place to stay

Very friendly and efficient staff who went out of their way to help. The Tide bus service runs past the property and we will try it out next time.

Fairly new reno bathroom and kitchenette

Care from the staff was excellent, there is however road noise, but we couldn't fault the service.

probably the cleanest motel we have stayed in staff are loverly people /the only thing that i could fault is the matress needs updating
