Lovely room, downside no air con, but there was a fan and could leave the balcony doors open. Good breakfast, staff very friendly and helpful. Location within easy reach of town and not far from the station. Access to the spa. Would definitely stay again.

The room was small and the bathroom. Staff friendly. There was no bottled water in your room, every hotel we have stayed always have the bottled water, and biscuits. Asked for a menu for desserts, waited 15 minutes or so, and then we went and asked for the menu but overall the service was okay.

Everything g was very good. Only negative was the room was noisyfrom traffic to hot to have windows closed

Visited in the middle of heat wave, unfortunately no air con - the portable fan in room was poor so asked at reception for a replacement. Within minutes housekeeping arrived with a new fan & also released the lock on the window to allow more fresh air flow into the room. Great location for exploring Chester city

Our room was on 4th floor. Two single beds in room. Thankful there was a desk fan in situ as was so very hot during our stay. Room was small but adequate for our needs and as it was only for one night it didn’t feel like we had no space. The bathroom, although quite dated, was very clean and tidy. The shower was set via the taps which did get bit tricky. Was just at temp I liked then as I was washing my hair, it went quite cold, which under the circumstances and how hot it was, it was quite refreshing, but had the outside been a cooler season it wouldn’t have been taken quite so kindly. The shower head was only small but pressure was very good. The shower was over bathtub & Shower curtains are something I thought had gone well out of date but they were lovely white clean new looking so no big issue. We didn’t eat In Hotel but went to a Chinese all you can eat just a short walk away ( Slowboat) where everything is cooked to order and was absolutely gorgeous food, so pleased we went there. The breakfast within the Mill Hotel was adequate. The situation of the Hotel is great for walking into the centre, along the canal. The only downside for us was that there was no fridge in room, which would have been very welcome considering the weather, as we couldn’t keep any drinks cold in room, but despite this we would definitely not hesitate to stay at The Mill again.

The hotel is well situated a short walk from the town. I've stayed once before. I booked a balcony room this time with canal view, complete waste of money. You could see the canal by leaning over the balcony. The balcony itself wasn't a nice space. It needed a good clean and sprucing up. Our room was very spacious, unfortunately, not very clean and again, needed sprucing up. This was reported on arrival and apparently someone was sent to clean it, but this wasn't evident. The bathroom was spacious with a shower over the jacuzzi bath. The bathroom and bedroom were very hot and the fan provided didn't make much difference, this wasn't a deal breaker though as it was a very warm weekend. The staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast with preserves and a cooked breakfast available. I will probably stay again if I get a good deal, but wouldn't pay extra for a balcony.

Lovely property with a history we learnt about on the Chester bus tour, the hotel is perfect and rooms are big and well thought out. Ours had a living area with sofa. The usual tea and coffee etc provided in the room. Spacious bathroom, with good shower over the bath. Good mattress, pillows and such soft sheets. Breakfast was a mix of full english and continental buffet style. All the staff, in svery capacity were friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend a stay..next time I shall try the spa element too!

The rooms were a little dated and could have been better with the introduction of some aircon units.

Great location with parking on site. Pool and spa were great, breakfast was lovely. Only downside, the tv was too old to use our fire stick. Would defo stay again.

Hotel staff and amenities excellent but rooms not suitable for the summer weather we are experiencing at the moment as there is no air conditioning the the rooms which makes it impossible to have a decent sleep. should be ok during the winter months

Couldn’t fault the accommodation. Nice food, friendly staff and excellent location right at side of the canal .

I was allocated a tiny room with no air conditioning. Shower also didn't work. In fairness, when i reported problems, staff quickly put it right. I paid £288 for 2 rooms which i feel were very substandard. However staff were excellent and food was good.
