Booked an executive "suite" .... room was uttetly souless, very limited facilities, nothing you would expect at the price level paid, not even bottled water. Grubby carpet, cheap plastic furniture, small buzzing empty fridge. View was the side of a coach on one side and a busy main road at the front. Had been away for 3 nights in Yorkshire staying at hotels in standard rooms that were a hundred times nicer and a third less expensive So uninspiring decided to just leave and drive home. Im sure if the room was overlooking the canal and better furnished, the hotel may be ok. Guess couldve complained but no one on reception and tbh couldnt be bothered. Ultimately beware the pictures on the expedia site compared to what you get!

Staff were great and so helpful. We arrived in the early hours but the staff had checked us in and the night porter was there to meet us. Superb service and greatly appreciated. While the hotel is a little dated it was clean and the breakfast was excellent.

We stayed for one night and it was perfect for our needs. Lovely choice at breakfast and it was nice to watch the boats go by on the canal on a sunny Sunday morning.

We had wonderful break after not going anywhere at all for 10 months. Hotel lovely and so accommodating. Asked for room near lift and they placed us so well close to lift and restaurant as I have mobility issues at the moment. Would highly recommend as wonderful views of scenery.

After the pubs and country homes this was a more ‘usual’ hotel experience. Great experience all round although our headboard had seen better days. Superb food.

Good location and good-size rooms. Breakfast very good. Stayed here several times before. This time the room with a canal-side view had one small window, with a faulty blind. The room had emergency lighting with an excessively bright green light which made a good night's sleep impossible.

Great location, Easy walk into Skipton along canal path. Lots of eatery options. Lovely shops and market. Hotel was reception areas lovely and staff polite and friendly. Rooms need to be updated and new beds as the bed was very uncomfortable. Cleaniness of the room was adequate.

Ideal location for Skipton, or walking the town path. Public spaces are lovely, our room was a bit tired though. Noisy in the early hours...not sure what. It sounded like fans going on and off. Ate at the bar one night which was ok. Breakfast was lovely, eating with a canal view.

Great hotel which allowed the dog. The walls by the window had marks from a previous water leak and there was no rubbish bin around hotel. I had a dog with me so ended up looking for a bin for ages, to dispose of the poop bag. Also smoke alarms are extremely sensitive. We were woken up at 5.45am by the fire alarm probably activated by someone having a shower.

Due to family reasons this was the 4th time in 6 weeks we have stayed. The tea doon we stayed was ease of booking on this site. On this occasion the room was showing its age. Signs of leaking from sky light. The bed was so uncomfortable, possibly sleeping on the floor would have been better. Skipton hotel you have a great bar area but why is the local beer always off. This time out of gas. Make sure it’s stocked up. Guess what more people will spend money there. While we had brekkie included not sure it was worth the £21 per couple if paying for it. I know it’s changed ownership and changes are on way but let’s see them. It a tired hotel

Stayed for weekend, lady from Leeds on reception lovely, the rest of staff in bar & restaurant failed any customer service satisfaction ! Everything seemed too much trouble & met with an unhelpful attidude when asked to clarify prices meal services. Price of alcohol in bar crazy Stella, vodka & coke £16.40( first & last visit). Fire alarm 8pm on Sunday for 2 minutes then stopped & no reassurance from any staff members to update guests in rooms whether it was real or not? Room was good in size & bed comfortable !
