Great atmosphere in historic inn with modern amenities! Great location and vey walkable to downtown, Queen’s University, restaurants and entertainment.

Lovely room

Fantastic 1-night stay! Beautiful mansion with friendly staff in an attractive neighbourhood. Our lovely room with balcony was super comfortable and clean. Fabulous continental breakfast. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate available all day next to breakfast room. Excellent, chronological write-up of the Hochelaga and local history on a wall in reception area. Easy walk (800m) to ’Chéz Piggy’, a cool litte restaurant in a beautiful limestone building down an alley. Best to book, we didn’t but were lucky to dine at the bar and watch the amazing barkeeper :-)

Very charming room. Bed was smaller than we’re accustomed to but comfortable. Breakfast offerings were delicious. Staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Hochelaga Inn is an old house with unique and lovely rooms and very warm and welcoming staff. My husband and I have stayed there three times and each visit was delightful. The breakfast was included and the food was very high quality and offered many healthy choices. So we will likely stay there again soon.

The building architecture was very unique. Breakfast meal was easily tailored to my dietary restrictions and price was very reasonable.

The property is as per the picture's/advertisement. The courtyard is beautiful and the room is perfect in size and amenities are as advertised. The Inn is walkable to restaurants. A lovely stay at the Hochelaga Inn.

Historic

Excellent location and easy to walk to key locations in downtown Kingston and Queen's.

The a/c in the room was extremely loud. The patio outside wasn’t clean nor kept up. Had to pay for parking which they should at least reimburse for when they only have 9 parking spots and 22 rooms.

Bed and pillows very comfortable. I stayed in the cottage room at the rear of the property. I could hear my neighbours moving around next to me as well as above. I was offered a $13 food and drink voucher in the form of a pre-selected soft drink and 2x small bags of chocolate. I asked if I could forgo these items and instead have scrambled eggs in the morning which was priced at $8. This was declined by the receptionist but I was offered 2 x bottles of sparkling water instead which I declined as water was already included in the room package. I did have a lovely breakfast which is included in the price of the hotel

First impression was very good. The front desk person was super nice, and took time to answer questions and show us around. The property was very interesting... lovely old home, nicely maintained, beautiful gardens. The problem was with our room. At first look it was just fine comfortable, although a bit warm. We made sure we'd turned on the A/C and went out for the evening, and we came back to a very warm room. The A/C (a very small window unit) was definitely not working, and it was making a lot of noise. We checked to see if we'd made some error in turning it to cool, turned it off and on, but no improvement. The rest of night was like being locked in a noisy sauna. We did not sleep. We could not open the window either. My husband spoke to the front desk about the issue, and we were offered some discount for the room. All in all a terrible night here. It would seem that there were some aspects of the B&B that were not properly maintained. If you plan to visit, it's really nice place, but make sure that you get a room that has a good A/C unit.
