Overall it was an OK experience. Plus points are the leisure facilities and the reasonable prices at the bar. There is a good set up for families with younger children, but mature couples might not appreciate all the children running about. For the cost per night, over £150 per room B&B one would expect a better standard of accommodation. Many parts of the hotel are looking tired and need refurbishment.

In need of a freshen up, couches in cinema, lounge and reception all very tired with cracked leather and rips. Fire alarm went off twice in the night waking us all up twice. Could hear chatting all night from our room, went to reception at 3am but wasn't sure where it was coming from so nothing could be done about it. 5 beds and 5 cups in the room but only one pack of biscuits to share on the tray! The £10 per child per day entertainment pass is a bit much to be able to enter the ballroom to watch 3 year olds sing in the 'talent contest' Stay was fine but we won't be back. Would book somewhere else with entertainment included in the cost

Hotel rooms was dated. Housekeeping inconsistent. Spent 10 days and never knew when housekeeping was likely to clean the room. Why can't simple do not disturb placards be available to indicate whether you need housekeeping services? Requested an ironing board and iron the first day, and housekeeping never removed it the entire 10-day stay. Sheet and towel service and toiletries and coffee service were replaced inconsistently. Doors rattled every time a person walked up the stairs. Parking can be a challenge. Good luck parking in the underground parking. Very small stalls. Good luck getting into the small lot in front, only found parking in front between 1 and 3 pm. NO air conditioning, and small fans were not available until the 3rd day of my stay. Pros: Breakfast was very good. The kitchen staff was very attentive to the food quality and availability, constantly checking on the temp, stirring items and replenishing as needed. Found it hard to check in for breakfast as the desk was manned in an inconsistent manner. Some days I was seated by staff and other days it was self serve seating. I preferred the self seating option, why would I want you to choose where i sit? Nice location in a nice town

Pros: Big room,bathroom with bath and large seperate shower, balcony with views of the beach, nice breakfast although not many gluten free options, reasonable prices in bar, free parking, great location for what we wanted Cons: housekeeping inconsistent with toilet roll not replenished every day, towels changed some days but not others, balcony not swept, could have been cleaner, whole hotel is rundown/outdated. Would stay in the area again but may try a different hotel next time although not many of the hotels looked like they had seaview balconies.

Reception was very good as were the staff in the restaurant and bar areas..we only stayed 2 nights but found the entertainment good and bar prices were reasonable. We went with the grandchild so had a family room which I must say was huge and had a balcony and the two bedroom areas were separated… All in all it was a very pleasant stay… Downside is as always along the front there are more visitors than parking spaces.. This hotel had lots but some were at the rear of the property so a little way to carry your bags..In general terms most of the communal areas were clean and well presented. However in our room in particular sun damage to the carpet by the sliding doors to the balcony was very obvious and threadbare.. The thermostat on the shower was inoperable,(reported to reception and dealing with it). But an ice cold shower both mornings was a definite wake up call…Good hotel just a little tired

Delightful little place. Will be back. Lots of car park space. Right on the beach front with a vintage pier and taby carvery immediatly opposite too. Short walk to Greene King, M&S foodhall and a B&M. Bus stop outside that goes to Lytham or Blackpool pleaaure beach and arcades

We have stayed here over a number of years, but now it is in need of a revamp.Booked a sea view balcony room, not cheap , but disappointing . Balcony couldn't see the seaview , as glass window,when sitting out on balcony was not clean and obviously hadn't been cleaned recently,also dirty drain for rainwater. Room had no pictures or lamps, only 2 bedside lights and overhead lights, or had any wifi usb sockets , wuite basic. We were left 1 x small shower gel for 2 people staying 2nights. There were no handles to get into shower over a high sided bath, or a safety mat in bath. Half the bed made the next day , hard to believe , and dirty coffee mugs weren't replaced with clean ones , no teaspoons either only small wooden stirrers . Plastic water cups not replaced , although left out as dirty. This was rectified by reception after I complained . Excellent situation, with parking etc. Excellent pool with good changing facilities , very clean. Excellent breakfast with good choice . Coffee from bar was poor. Overall, standards have dropped at Dalmeny and room very disappointing ,which we had been looking forward to.

The hotel could benefit from fresh paint in many areas but the facilities are good and the service excellent.

Room was very large but needs updating patio doors stuck went half term with granddaughter but disappointed no entertainment on in evening even Friday night seems to be full of people all getting drunk and letting there kids run wild won't go half term again not good value for what I paid for b and b breakfast hardly anything replenished .been several times before and aways enjoyed but very let down this time
