My stay was absolutely terrible…I was placed in a non-smoking room that smelled like smoke; I was then changed rooms to where the tub and room fixtures were broken and dirty. I was again

Property was nice in a bad area.

I go to the east bay a lot for business. the area is safe,, quiet and restaurants are close by. the 580 is right there! for the price of $86 a night that's a bargain!

Better than the photos. Room was clean and spotless!

Breakfast was absolutely lame. Milk was not cold. Apple juice and orange juice were all but undrinkable due to being VERY watered down. That was orange flavored WATER. NOT juice. No microwave at all to heat food. No waffle or any other breakfast option besides warm cereal and half-stale pastries. Staff DID NOT CARE when questioned about these problems. Door to room had MULTIPLE gaps you could see straight outside through. This caused the heater to constantly be switching on and off all night long causing a very uncomfortable rest period. Sink water in room never got cold. It was barely drinkable as it was coming out barely below room temperature.

Nice staff. Good breakfast! Close to freeway and to many stores.

I’ve stayed at this location three times when I’ve visited my son at Cal Berkeley. The property is well maintained and staff are always welcoming. The manager is a nice gentlemen who provides good service. There is a Safeway supermarket across the street with a great deli of hot and cold foods. I will continue to stay here whenever I visit the East Bay Area.

Dirty. Stains on pillow cases, cigarette burns on bed comforter. Mold in shower. Stains on wall near toilet! Hair on towels. Uncomfortable bed. I left after 1 night it was so bad. Hotel refused to refund me for my 2nd night. Rude staff. Don’t stay here!

The check in small space smells really bad, like tobacco and some other odors that I can’t describe, it makes you think if you made a mistake reserving in this hotel, thankfully the room it was clean. The receptionist was friendly though. Will strongly recommend to fix that odor issue.

The area and the staff was excellent.

My son attends UC Berkeley and we visited him for Parent’s Weekend and Homecoming. This hotel is 25 minutes away from Berkeley nestled in Castro Valley, a nice, safe and quiet town. The hotel manager and staff are welcoming and very friendly. I recommend this hotel.
