A very comfortable Riad. Very well equipped room, with an electric kettle, a supply of good Moroccan tea. Wardrobe with hangers, working heater, clean sheets, towels changed daily. Comfortable bed. Very nice room decorated in Arabian style. WiFi works very well. The room had two patio windows and a private bathroom. A delicious breakfast was served daily. At the very top is a huge terrace with lots of greenery. You can smoke cigarettes on it. Service very nice and helpful, although it does not speak English well. But it's not a problem. The area is very safe and tourist friendly. The first evening a service lady led us to dinner at an Arabian restaurant. It was not budget, but I recommend to feel the Arabic atmosphere and eat very good Arabic dishes. The restaurant is called Dar Rbatia. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to feel the Arabic atmosphere and live in a typical Arabic home.

We booked the large family room since we were traveling with our 25 year old daughter, but when we arrived, we were informed that our room was overbooked. After a lovely cup of Moroccan sweet mint tea, we were still waiting and finally the owner called to apologize and have us follow his employee to a different Riad. The room offered to us was not a large family room which I paid for but they did then offer us two separate rooms. It was just disappointing because I specifically paid extra to book a large room as it was our first night in Morocco and wanted to have a nice experience. The second location was not as "fancy" and it was smaller. Thankfully the people at Dar Yanis were extremely nice and accommodating. But we read about the issue of overbooking rooms in Morocco and it happened to us twice, so beware!

When I arrived they told me they were overbooked and moved me to a less Riad (hotel). Only because I was staying for 1 night, I didn't want to make a problem but what happened was totally unacceptable.

Amazing property, friendly hosts, and an attention to detail. The showers had black soap that is special to Morocco, and we had complimentary tea almost every night on the beautiful terrace. Highly recommend!

It was the most amazing room! Staff was lovely, location was great (once They fetched me because my sense of direction is terrible and I got lost).

We stayed for 1 night at this riad and very enjoyed our stay. The Riad is owned by the French, he welcomed us and give recommendations about all the places to visit. We had very heavy luggage, he helped us to carry them to taxi station. The Riad is very nice, comfortable and clean. We highly recommend it, and we would definitely stay here, if we come to Rabat again.

The design was exquisite. The breakfast was superb. Their lunch/dinner recommendation for eating out was perfect. The sisters running the Riad were extremely hospitable, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend Riad El Bir for anyone staying at Rabat.

They requested at the very last minute at our checkout to pay $50 dirham for "TAX" even though we only stayed a night. We also paid some tips when we arrived. Is not nice to ask for money when we leave. We r in a rush and had to catch last train to Casablanca. The road was congested. We couldn't find taxi.

We stayed for a week in Rabat, taking day trips to places like Casablanca. As covered by other reviewers, the riad is in a very good location. Rabat Medina is fairly clean and calm as compared to some other Moroccan towns and this riad is in the middle, close to shops and restaurants. The accommodation is fairly basic, and could do with a few improvements to really make it a great place to stay, but it’s comfortable, clean and good value. I thought the rooms upstairs were better, which we had, as they are slightly removed from the courtyard where people had breakfast. However, looking at the other downstairs rooms (as I’m nosy) they did seem bigger. I didn’t meet Vincent but the women working there were lovely and never annoyed that we didn’t appear for breakfast until after 9am. The tram is close, and it’s a 15 minute walk to a good carrefour supermarket (walk to the tram and follow that road to the right, past a large junction and it’s on the other side). Rabat is an easy distance from the UK and is a good choice in a cold winter, so I’m sure we will go back and I would happily stay there again.

Absolutely wonderful! The riad was clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was welcoming and the manager Vincent went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He helped us plan a great day around Rabat seeing all the sights and he gave us genuine advice about traveling in Morocco which helped us plan our trip and feel confident. Definitely recommend a stay here. We are traveling in Morocco for a month and hope to come back to riad el bir for one of our last night's. Thank you Vincent, Zach and Milo for making us feel welcome! :) -Jason and Caitlyn

Riad El Bir is in the Medina and very convenient to shopping and local restaurants. Only minutes away from the tram line, buses and taxis. The owner/host, Vincent, is a very gracious and accommodating host. He's very knowledgeable about the area and the city and can help with any questions you might have. Wifi is good. Recommend this Riad.

I spent 2 night at this hotel. It was my first visit to Rabat and the hotel was my first impression. I felt welcome by the staff at all times. The room where I stayed was beautiful and cozy. I also felt I could rely on staff for any question I had regarding the city. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic Moroccan experience.

I chose this Riad as they had ground floor rooms which were helpful with my mom who uses a walker. The location is about 6-7 blocks from parking. The first night I lucked into a spot on the street, but really struggled to find parking the second night. Possibly not the best location with a car. The directions the owner sent to me to find the Riad were excellent. There is sign next to the door but in the dark I didn't see it the first night. There are a few steps down to the main level of the Riad. A lovely big open courtyard where we ate breakfast each morning. There are two ground floor rooms and two on the upper level. If the Riad is not full the owner stays there to be available to his guests. The owner is lovely and speaks great English. He really takes the time to sit down with each guest and get to know you and offers advice on what to see and do. The breakfast was plentiful and the room was large. The wifi wasn't great, but I believe that there was a problem while we are there and the owner was trying to have it fixed. There were a few things in the bathroom that needed fixing, such as the squeaky door, the broken towel bar and the showerhead holder, but all was very clean and the owner really cared about his establishment and wanted the best for his guests.

We were met when we couldn't find the address and had a very warm welcome and taken to the parking nothing was too much trouble. The owner and staff couldn't have been more helpful.
