Newly renovated so there’s a few old pics if you’re looking on Google. 3rd story private room was nice and clean, ice cold AC. No elevator, no ac in halls, stairwells or main lobby. Nice view from the shared balcony. There’s a great restaurant/bar on the dock right in front of the hotel, very convenient.

Love staying at the Sandbar whenever I’m in Belize!

Wonderful hotel I had third floor private room with balcony, common area downstairs and the restaurant/ bar is a great hangout with nearby diving shops and airport. I left my phone in the Hotel and they shipped it as soon as they found out through the quick local airline from San Pedro to Belize city and got the phone to me while I was boarding my flight back home. Rooftop pool has beautiful views and is nice itself

This was my first time staying at this hostel; although, I have visited their open-air restaurant and bar many times over the years. I stayed in a private room, with an ocean front balcony on the 3rd floor. It was very clean with basic amenities. The bathroom had a nice walk-in shower. The rooftop pool and bar area is great, but the bar is not open everyday. My only complaint would be the all night noise from a club nextdoor.

The staff wonderfull. The place was clean, we had a private bedroom and I can say that it was really confortable. We didn't feel that we were at a hostel. I tried the restaurant/bar, was really good and the staff was friendly and super nice. I will go back there for sure on my next vacations and really recommend the place.

Stay was for 9 nights. Great staff and helpful. Easy to get around and find different places from here. Will stay again

First of all, this property is for ages 14 and up. I did not realize when biking and came with my 13 year old daughter. They let us stay, but made it clear that this was an Expedia error and not the norm. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay. Free paperboard to borrow, a beautiful pool and a good restaurant next door. The restaurant was a little pricey for our hostel budget, but convenient the first day when we arrived starving. The run was very clean with around AC and a safe. The kitchen was convenient for keeping food costs down, and despite the hostels reputation, it want too rowdy while we were there.

It was a good stay, just kids aren't allowed, needs to be stated. But would definitely come back!

I would stay again even though our stay wasn't perfect. The staff of the hostel were incredible. Great recommendations, very personable. The AC was wonderfully responsive. The beds were comfortable. The balcony was very pleasant. The water available for refilling our water bottles was an absolute delight to have access to at all hours. We didn't know that there would be some construction going on while we were there to fix some stairs - hearing a drill at 7:30am wasn't the most pleasant, nor was smelling the wood stain in the early morning hours. I do wish the bathroom walls were scrubbed down a little better. Impressively though, there wasn't any sand on the floors of our room upon arrival. Being on the waterfront, the smell of the sargassum was very strong and did get inside. The sargassum has absolutely nothing to do with this property specifically though, it's just something to note if you're traveling to this area.
