Practical hotel in the centre of Portalegre. Overall the hotel feels a bit dated but generally clean. Breakfast was ok but not a single lactose or gluten free option (at least we couldn’t find it and there was no staff on sight)

Fantastic hotel right in the centre of Portalegre. The staff were very helpful, the room was great and the breakfast was excellent. The neighbourhood is quaint with lovely old cobbled streets with good shops, interesting buildings and good restaurants. Easy access to the local national park.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the hotel in December 2024. The room was spacious and comfortable, with excellent Wi-Fi connections. We appreciated the coffee/tea station in the room. A wonderful full breakfast with many options was included in the price. Would recommend this hotel to travelers in Alegré.

We booked a place to stay that it was horrible! Then, we were lucky to find this hotel, Jose Régio in Portalegre. A great place to stay! The staff was super friendly and helpful (we got a flat tire and do not speak Portuguese!) The place is very clean and comfortable.

Very nice and clean

The stay was short but great, nice room, nice location, very nice hotel overall. However the breakfast was very disappointing.

Estava tudo magnífico, o quarto é super acolhedor e a casa de banho super limpa.

No car park limited parking spaces on road otherwise you pay, no restaurant open, cafeteria only had 2 choices to offer as snack although big menu card, no ice cream although had a menu of 20 - 30 dishes. not what you expect from a 4 * hotel I would rate this more as 2* only good thing breakfast was good.
