Gave wrong room, no light in bathroom when we got there

Beyond disappointed with our 3 night stay here. Service was poor from the first interaction and the quality of the hotel was dismal. It is clear that the people running it do not care, excuses at every turn and no accountability. The room did not match what was advertised or shown in the photos. The hotel smells like people smoke in the rooms and the smoke detector was removed in our room, so it seems quite likely. Our room was not properly cleaned or prepared for our arrival. Visible black mold in the bathroom and water damage on the floor. Nasty stains on the bedside tables. The front door to the hotel was broken and could not be closed and there were no efforts being made to address it. There were no efforts made to clean the property - there were even dead mini Christmas trees sitting right beside the exterior of the front door with ornaments still attached - in June. The key card for the room shows this is affiliated with the Hilton chain. What an absolute disgrace. We have stayed at many Hilton properties and nothing has ever been this bad. Hotels.com you need to step up your verification process. Send someone immediately because this location is an embarrassment to your brand. We have stayed in Stoughton every year for the past decade and this was our first and last time staying here. Do yourself a favour and check out the Smila Motel instead. It is way better bang for your buck and the owners actually care about their guests and the property.

10/10 recommend! We have been staying here often after I had some flood damage/mould issue at my home. Maria and her husband genuinely provide a comfortable cozy and safe atmosphere at this hotel. They keep you stalked right up on fresh towels, linens, bathroom items and friendly conversation. They make your stay all that more enjoyable and positive. Their free breakfast is always something delicious and a good selection of foods for both adults and kids. We have stayed at many hotels and they are by far our favorite management staff. The beds are great and the private field view is nice and relaxing. Tons of dog space if you’re travelling with pets.

Our favourite place to stay. Even if you catch a stomach bug etc the front desk will go above and beyond to help “mom” you back to health. Highly recommend booking with Maria at the western star in stoughton!

The Hotel was clean and quiet with a very easy and convenient check in. Would definitely dtay here again if oassing through...rate was also very reasonable

The room was updated vs. pictures on Expedia so that was a positive..unsure why pictures were not recent. Staff barely spoke, not very friendly, unwelcoming, and not even ‘thanks for staying,’ or ‘how was your stay?’ at time of checkout. The hotel itself was fine but the bathroom and floor were dirty and in-turn makes the stay uncomfortable thinking about it being unclean. We kindly asked to have the bathroom cleaned the next morning and by late afternoon, still not cleaned (there were hairs in tub, on toilet n floor, pee spots on toilet from previous patrons, etc…). We ended up buying some cleaner from a grocery store in town and cleaned it ourselves. Not the best experience unfortunately. Sorry.

When entering the hotel the front desk was not manned you had to call a number on a poster which was the same for checking out. The hotel was cold with random space heaters running in the hallway. The room was ice cold and the floors where uncomfortably cold. It took hours for the heat in the room to get it to a bearable level. The tile floor at the entrance and bathroom never warmed. It appears this hotel is suffering from financial difficulties. It could be an exceptional place to stay with a little effort on their part. But with the condition this hotel was in I would choose another hotel or drive to an adjacent city and stay elsewhere the next time I have to stay in the area
