I took my mini-poodle for walk after dark next to a densely wooded area and when we took our first step down the steps to a path, coyotes started yelping. Only a few at first but the second step more and louder yelping and what sounded like 20 to 30 yards away now sounded like 10 - 15 yards. We took one more step and it sounded like 15-20 coyotes and they were just yards away and moving toward us. I immediately backed up and away and we were out of sight of the coyotes, the yelping subsided and after about 15 seconds, the yelpng stopped. I feared if I'd taken that 4th step, the coyotes would've attacked my dog and possibly me. Everyone I mentioned to what happened acknowledged the coyotes, but were hesitant to say anything else. Does an attack have to happen before anything is done to protect the guests at Hotel Viata?
