We had a sub basement flat and it was great value. Spacious and near the pool. Could do with some sprucing up in terms of furniture etc but nothing to spoil our stay. The hotel restaurant is what makes it for us. Great food and staff. Best cocktails and the best spaghetti ever. Coffee is superb too. We asked the hotel to leave two pizzas in our room as we were arriving late and nothing is a problem for them. Location is absolutely wonderful on the beach.

Hotel is very nice , rooms are big , small kitchenette and fridge very convenient , cleaned everyday … nice lady at checking in and out … helped us discover some local places as well . Little supermarket on the the hotel side 1 min walk . Or u can go to the main SYNKA 2 min by car , 10-15 walking . Free parking Beach is clean and amazing. Sun beds and table cost 15 Euro by the beach or free on the pool.. we bought our own umbrella 25 euro and left there :) The restaurant is amazing with good prices and quality and staff were nice .

Great scenic property on a beach. Wonderful onsite restaurant. Short drive to historic Aptera.

We did enjoy our stay at Golden Bay. The apt was nice. There were a couple issues that would have made the stay nicer...One of the doors to the patio had only one hinge, so it couldn't safely be used. It should have had a sign on it for safety. That door also didn't have blackout curtains and make it hard for the kids to sleep because of the lights on the property all night. Didn't tell me until the last night. I thought it was just the sun in the morning. It would have been really nice if there had been dish soap and dish towels for the kitchen area. We did use the kitchen. It worked fine. The pool area is nice, and the loungers have the best cushions, but so limited and not enough shade. At the beach you pay 10 Euro for 2 loungers and an “umbrella". We went out to try one morning, but all were already taken. We didn't try again. Food at the restaurant was good but took a while and sometime took a while to be recognized by staff to order if not sitting in the restaurant. They do work long hours and are pretty busy. Water is less expensive if you take away. We got lucky with parking. It wasn't too bad during the week, but weekends can be harder to get a spot. It is a public lot for the beach. Other restaurants and grocery in walking distance.

Evagelia and Olga were absolutely amazing, they were happy to answer any questions we had and assist with everything. They are the face of this accommodation and should be commended for the excellent work they do and go that extra mile with a smile on their face. The property is in an awesome location and if i was to return, i would be definitely going back, the view and location is to die for. Clean and comfortable accommodation, loved everything about our stay. We will miss the two lovely ladies, you made our stay that one level better, thank you

This hotel must have been good at some point, but it feels like it's running on fumes now. I heard a staff member say there are doubts as to whether they will be operating next year. The not so good: We arrived to trash in the walkway to our room, which wasn't cleaned until after stray cats had had their way with it overnight, and we had to report it to front desk. Information on cleaning schedule was shared incorrectly. We only found our later that towel service was every second day, so dirty towels left on the floor were picked up but not replaced on alternate days. The room floor was also covered in sand on our arrival. I understand it's a beach front property and some sand is bound to get into rooms, but I would have assumed it would get cleaned, at least when there is a turnaround in guests in each room. The positives: Location and the beach in front of the hotel are great. There's easy access to Chania, and also attraction further west. Hotel staff were generally helpful and polite. The restaurant at the hotel is quite good.

This was a great value for a family. The room we had was great, although we had issues with the A/C but not the end of the world since the weather was not extremely hot. Pool area was lovely. Would have been nice to have an iron in the room but instead we hung what we needed to get creases out on the patio and the humidity and air naturally straightened it out. The restaurant was excellent, the service was exceptional there and the staff so pleasant despite that you can see they work very long days. The beach is lovely and lots of nearby areas to walk and eat. Was unimpressed when the hotel staff on day three started to ask guests for $10 euro each to use the sun beds which was stated no where (they only asked when it was sunny!) . That really put us off, we didn’t pay and laid on the sand instead. Overall though a great stay, room worked well for a family.

Had a really amazing holiday here, great location on the beach and always had available beds around the pool when we went. The staff were really friendly and plenty of restaurants around the hotel within walking distance. Reception were more than happy to book taxis for us to get to the old town which was lovely to visit for food, boat trips and a couple of museums on the cloudier days.

The hotel offers everything listed and more!! The views from the hotel's beach are amazing!! The staff are very kind and accommodating. The restaurant is delicious, there's plenty of variety for breakfast, and the cocktails are great! The room has many amenities, it's spotless and spacious. I booked an in-room massage service, and it was truly great and relaxing. Also, very convenient. One thing not mentioned online is that right under the hotel, by the beach, is a convenient store with a little bit of everything you'll need to relax at your stay. Lastly, if you take a walk around the area, there are plenty of nearby delicious restaurants that are worth a try.

Nice location. Pool and ocean were nice. Kitchen was nice for breakfast. Easy to get around. Large park for runs close by.

The hotel is by the beach. It has a reataurant with nice food for decent prices. Staff is very friendly. It’s just over 4km away from town centre 15 minutes by bus or taxi. Denifinitely recommend the place.

We enjoyed our stay. They have everything on this property. Great beachfront, tiki house that you can rent, pool, amazing restaurant, affordable mini-mart with a lot of souvenirs, beach stuff, and friendly staff is a plus. Highly recommended.
