Staff are wonderful can’t fault them but ongoing upgrades

Great views. Great food. Room is dated

Lovely clean and recently renovated room. Front of the property and on the first floor so a stunning view of Cardiff and Caerphilly mountain. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and quality items on the menu. All the staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. Beautiful hotel and stunning views. Only small gripe is that the hotel was a little warm, nothing that couldn’t be sorted by opening the windows and turning off the radiator in the room. Fan in the wardrobe and also available at reception. Then again who could predict 20 degrees in April!

The room was perfect size for a family of four. It was a gorgeous location.

a quaint old house in lovely grounds. the room we very well kept as was most of the hotel and grounds. the only slight worry was a pungent smell in the corridor between the bar and the rooms which was quite unpleasant. this was only in the ground floor corridor though, not obvious upstairs or in the room or the main hotel. Serve was friendly and efficient.

Beautiful location - staff were great

Absolutely wonderful hotel, we had a dog friendly room, which was really large with a patio area outside. Beds are super comfy and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were especially helpful and friendly.

My wife and I had a lovely stay at this amazing hotel set in a picturesque location. Everything was perfect, from the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms. The fire in the bar area was welcoming on a cold evening. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. Best scambled eggs i have ever had! Thank you to everyone at New House Hotel.

A lovely stay. Great staff. Amazing food in the restaurant. Our only minor niggle was that communal areas, restaurant, corridors were a tad chilly and could have been a bit warmer despite the beautiful open log fires.

Supurb staff. Room was just right, very comfortable and quiet as well as spotless. The staff made the difference though, helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived.

Stayed for one night, room was excellent, really big, seperate bedroom and lounge. Resturant was not busy, evening meal was first class, as was breakfast. staff really freindly and helpful. open fires burning, lovely atmosphere.

Lovely comfortable room and four poster bed. Dinner was very tasty and breakfast was included and good.

Linda was lovely at the front desk. We were given a nice card and prosecco for our anniversary, had a lovely stay.

We were returning 25 years after getting married at The New House; celebrating our silver wedding anniversary. The hotel made the event even more special by spoiling us from the moment we arrived. The receptionist, restaurant/bar staff and cleaners were all very pleasant and had gone out of their way to add special touches for us. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of choice on the evening &breakfast meal menus and everything we ate was well cooked &presented. We cannot thank the staff at The New House enough for being a special part of our trip down memory lane. It was a perfect return to a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts. We would fully recommend staying at this beautiful venue.

Lovely setting, beautiful old building. Good food. Open log fires very welcoming. Expensive for not having any of those extras you expect at that price. No toiletries, dressing gowns , slippers, mini fridge etc. Service charge added to meal bill. Wee bit cheeky.

Fantastic receptionist, on duty at checking (10pm) and just as helpful friendly and smiley early the next morning and at checkout (10.30am)
