Looked nice in the photos but reality was different. Room was not that clean (hair on the floor and shower grubby). Rooms are soundproof - not true . We heard the lift regularly and early in the morning heard constant noise as breakfast was set up below our room. Also bedside light was broken so a clip on lamp had been added - the problem was it had a loose wire so didn’t work all the time or flickered. We reported it and nothing was done. The bedside space is very cramped - the photos are deceptive. We only had 1 set of towels - again when we mentioned this they sent up 1 beach towel! No bath or hand towel. The restaurant was shut, only the Bistro was open with very limited menu. Breakfast was fine but I didn’t appreciate being told off for using the wrong bread in the toaster (really) and we also got told off for taking a bottle of water to our table (we drank it all so it didn’t go to waste). We were told there were too many guests for us to do this. There were no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. We asked for a kettle and the receptionist went to get a kettle but came back with a teapot and two cups. On asking for 1 teabag we were charged 4 Euros for the privilege. Bearing in mind this is shown as 4 star on the website - to my mind it was nowhere near. I would never recommend this hotel - on our 7 week trip this has been the most disappointing so far. I don’t understand how it’s getting a high rating.

Great spot in front of the sea & a short walk to Miramare grounds and castle. Good comfortable room, soft towels, good shower, efficient air con & good sound -proofing to outside & etc easy to park in hotel parking area. But disappointing that the hotel had no beach area/beach loungers or facilities in front of the hotel, and the only serviced beach area was a walk away, charged for entry. Spa area (private use only) very well equipped, but you do need to book to use. On the room facilities no toiletries provided apart from one liquid soap dispenser by the sink, and no coffee machine/kettle in room for hot drinks, both of which seem a bit minimal for an Adults only hotel. Breakfast was good, staff were good, but the super menu was too limited - only one hot plate on offer. Bus stops very close by with good service to Trieste and the small local port (with boat service to Trieste) but no shops within walking distance, and only a few eateries.

I loved my stay here at the Hotel Miramare ! The room was very clean and fresh with the bathroom, clean as well. I had a room overlooking the Adriatic with lounge chairs and enjoyed a relaxing ( but cool) evening outdoors. The restaurant had a very good tapas type menu. I had the baba Ganoush as well as the meatballs and they were wonderful ! Pricing was very good for the food as well as the drinks. The breakfast the next day was amazing with a full continental breakfast including cheese, cured meats, coffee, croissants, etc. While it is a bit outside of Trieste proper, parking was free ( compared to crazy driving and parking in the city ). I would recommend taking the 6 bus into the city as the bus stop is only a short distance away and is only a few Euros. The staff was wonderfully accomodating from the front desk to the wait staff. Very pleasant stay at Hotel Miramare !

Breakfast quite good. Room temperature was the biggest problem: temperature could not be controlled and it was far too hot (28.5° C). Receptionist said they could not change it, but we could open the door to outside to cool off. Fortunately, it was cool outside, and the room temperature did come down with an open door for the outside, but one should not have to do that! Dinner in the Hotels restaurant was surprisingly good. Getting to it at night was surprisingly difficult, as Google, Waze, and Apple Maps all had the wrong location and without lights on the Hotel advertising it, it was challenging to find.

Our room had a gorgeous view, Space around the bed was very limited. The electric plugs were not well situated or were loose in the wall. The hairdryer was unusable due to curly cable which had to be plugged in low down and then did not reach to be able to see a mirror or even sit comfortably to use it. The breakfast had a wide choice of food, but the evening meal menu was just altered once a week and limited.

This high end hotel has no unnecessary decorations. The simple interior design consisting of aluminum, marble (the real one), and mirrors let the 180 degree view of the Adriatic Sea speak for itself. The breakfast service was excellent, and all receptionists (except for one grumpy guy) were kind, pleasant, helpful and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed evening swimming in the Adriatic Sea after my business was over. A surreal and beautiful experience we have had.

This property was very nice and clean and the view was amazing. But if you are just in Trieste overnight to catch a cruise you would be better staying in Trieste as this place is 20-30 minutes away from cruise port. Also the train drop off is a 20 minute walk down steep hill and stairs to get to hotel. There were no cabs in sight. The bus stop is a 10 minute walk away. A cab to terminal costs about 30 euros. We were there on the off season in October and all local restaurants in area were closed for the season and there was nowhere to eat but the restaurant at hotel. Also, no vending machines or market nearby to grab water/snacks. The only option for water was the minibar in our room. There is a beautiful boardwalk along shoreline across the street from hotel, but it is a good 15-20 minute walk before you get to anywhere.
