Flooded car park but nothing new for this hotel even when it was the Hilton.. Many years of this. New reception area, clean and inviting but after leaving there the best way of describing the hotel is run-down and shoddy, which needs lots of work carried out quickly in the stairways (distinct smell of damp), hallways and rooms. The room we had looked like there had been a flood in the bathroom with the bath panel curling up, the door splitting and peeling, the shower is about 20 years old, random brackets left on the wall which I guess were old towel rails but who knows? The room felt old and well used (mind you this hotel was used as an immigration refugee hotel until recently!) Getting a taxi from the hotel and back was a nightmare because firms did not know it had open its doors to the public again instead of temporary housing for other people! When taxi were sourced, the reputation of the hotel was lower than a snakes belly because of the people that were there! Not a good start in anyway for the hotel and if they don't announcing they are open as a normal hotel again with paying customers this will not be open for long. A lot of work to be done with the local companies i.e. taxi companied etc and loads of work internally urgently required to make it a place you want to stay at or even recommend.
