The hotel staff were excellent, always helping promptly with problems. The rooms and bathrooms were kept very clean.Shower gel/shampoo were consistently replaced. Tea and coffee were always replenished. I was in room 152 and my sister in 157. My room had separate shower and toilet and my sister’s had an en suite. The shower was easy to operate and control the temperature unlike other hotels in Algeria. We needed assistance in operating a safe in room 152, and televisions in both rooms. We think written instructions would have helped. We never successfully operated the TVs but we didn’t visit Algeria for that reason. I was unable to lock the glass doors onto the balcony in room 152, despite being given instructions. I believe the locks are ineffective and need attention. I was not concerned about safety, as the room was on the fifth floor and there is a police station next door! However this might be a concern for other guests. The proximity of the police station is almost certainly the reason for the main hotel door being accessible at all hours, which was a surprise to us.The breakfast was adequate but lacked variety. We enjoyed one evening meal on our first night, which was excellent value.I had retained the bill for DZD 4600 which I paid on check out two weeks later. As we were taking a taxi to the airport, Hotel Suisse contacted our driver by mobile to tell me I had only paid for one meal. I gave the driver DZD2800 to pay the hotel on his return. This was disappointing

Older style hotel that has seen better days. Nonetheless, it was convenient to main street, the room was clean and the area was quiet. Breakfast was more than adequate. Would recommend to budget minded traveller.

The staff of Hotel Suisse were fantastic and very accommodating. They gave me a room in the top 6th floor, which had 3 beds in 3 rooms with a spacious bathroom. Each bedroom had its own split air conditioner (climatiseur). The location is right near the Agha train station, with easy access to the airport, and is near many metro connections. Also, the location is within walking distance of many restaurants, eateries, and shopping places. The value for this hotel was unbeatable. Also, the staff were able to provide good restaurant suggestions, especially for authentic Algerian cuisine. If one has trouble with stairs, I’d suggest one reserve a lower floor, as the elevator only goes to the 5th floor. The hotel itself is also accessible by many flights of stairs from the main roads. The staff can speak some English, but French or Arabic will go a lot farther! I would recommend this hotel to anyone in Algiers for the first time, or looking for a respite in the heart of the old city.

Very convenient and well located hotel. A kind of a family owned boutique hotel, a bit outdated but clean and has the necessary amenities. The staff was great and helpful. Nice breakfast. Will stay there again.

Our first visit to Algiers. Hotel Suisse is in the city center, very close to everything we wanted to see and walk to. We arrived very late at night because of a late flight. The concierge was waiting for us and made it easy for us to get settled. All through our stay, the desk staff was helpful. They made sure we got our messages from our Algerian guide, they were polite, we made our limited language skills work, they had a good sense of humor. The beds were comfortable and we slept quite well. The room was clean, well cared for but modest in size, the bathroom was spacious and we had great water pressure. We were able to keep the temperature comfortable and we also had French doors that opened to a small balcony. (Note: we were there in January) Every morning we had a typical "petit dejeuner" breakfast in a spacious breakfast room. I ate delicious fresh oranges, yogurt, croissants and hard boiled eggs. They also had a spread of other pastries as well as some local sliced sausages and cheese, which did not appeal to me. And very good coffee. The hotel had a bar that seemed busy every night (which we did not visit) and an elevator (tiny.) We had everything we needed, we felt safe, we slept well and we were in a very typical Algiers neighborhood. There are lots of hotels in Algiers, as well as some 5 star western style hotels, and generally expensive; Hotel Suisse is definitely on the budget end of the spectrum but we thought it was quite nice and we're glad we chose it. Happy!

The staff has to be more professional and trained. I got wifi password after 30 mins of wait. Rooms are not that are shown on website as try to give worst at the beginning but if you argue can get better room. Overall It should be more professional attitude, I was expecting

The hotel has a great location in the centre of Algiers, within walking distance from the grande Poste and two metro stations. The hotel is old and not all the rooms are renovated, but is clean and maintained. The staff can speak english and are very helpfull. Breakfast is basic but acceptable. Is a good value for money (especially if you pay in the local currency and not with your debit/credit card).

My reservation did not exist, even though the room was paid for in advance, and hotels.com had confirmed it. I found myself late in the evening after a long day of travel without accommodation. Eventually a new room was found in a new hotel, but the experience was uncomfortable. Unfortunately not the first time...
