I love staying at Brown. This is my third visit. The staff is very kind to me and always willing to go the extra mile. The area is perfect. I enjoy walking around the neighborhood. There are pharmacies, restaurants and malls in the surrounding area. I feel very safe. I am looking forward to staying at Brown again. I highly recommend the kind staff, beautiful neighborhood and piece of mind the Brown Hotel allows.

I am from California and have stayed at the Brown Hotel twice now. I absolutely love this hotel. It is small and family owned. I believe they have 8 rooms. Their breakfast is delicious, filling, and as if your mother made it with love. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. I also like the bathroom size. Because of odd flight times, I tend to arrive in the middle of the night (between 3 and 4 am). Although they may be sleeping in the lobby, I am very appreciative that they are there as arriving to a foreign country in the middle of the night is a tad stressful. Unfortunately, I do not speak Russian and their English is limited, but I wish I could tell them in their native language how happy I am to stay there. большое спасибо, Brown Hotel!

Very helpful service, although English is limited and there is only one choice for breakfast (but filling and tasty). Room could do with more pictures or decoration, but area very quiet in the evening even though next to a main road. Overall a solid choice

This is a well located hotel in the older part of town (but in Astana nothing is that old!). There are several good restaurants and supermarkets within a short walk. The staff is very nice and helped me a lot with figuring out what bus to take, etc. and calling taxis. The room condition was excellent, everything clean. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The room wasn't large but it was okay; I would have preferred having a nightstand, though. Breakfast was nicely presented and changed each day. It was not a buffet though, and the portions weren't as large as I would have preferred (but I eat a lot). The TV didn't have any English language channels but I didn't care. I would say the hotel isn't fancy but very friendly and comfortable and, for the price I paid, an excellent value.

This small hotel is OK for a short stay in Astana. The rooms are small and very basic, and we had a room with no AC. The room was very clean when we arrived, but no housekeeping came while we were there for 3 days. Towels were changed when we asked. Staff is not always at the desk, but staff members try to be helpful at all times. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfast is included - it is served in a basement room and it is a set meal that changes each day. There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel. It is a long taxi ride from the airport.

Stayed for 2 nights. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and comfy. The only thing I could complain was bed which was too soft to me. Overall the hotel is fine.

The Brown Hotel is located in a very nice part of the city and you can go to any place of interest by bus or taxi ( about $2.5-$3). I like most that the hotel is very clean. There is a refrigerator and an electric tea kettle in the room. There are also toiletries, bath robes and slippers. The staff is most welcoming. You can ask Raigul (Райгуль), Aigerim (Айгерим) or Zhanna (Жанна) any question. They will always help. I highly recommend the Brown Hotel in Astana.

Although the staff didn't all speak English they always tried to be helpful, including organising a cheap taxi to the airport for 3am. The hotel is a little way from the sights, such as they are, but as I discovered late in my stay there are actually a few restaurants and bars nearby, which actually looked better than the more central ones. There are also several late night grocery stores within a minute's walk from the hotel. The hotel was clean, quiet and excellent value by comparison with ones nearer the centre of Astana. Personally I don't think I would visit Astana as a pedestrian again, as places of interest are too far apart and it isn't a pedestrian friendly city with vast spaces between sights and pavements that don't really go anywhere, the city was definitely (re)built with cars in mind.

I needed a good night's sleep in between flights from Bangkok and to London and I certainly did. I found the hotel easily thanks to the directions given by S from Korea on his/her review. My room was clean and spacious. It looked as in the photos, which is reassuring. Tea & coffee facilities as well as Wi-Fi. Fridge, bathrobe, slippers, toiletries and towels were provided. I felt safe in the neighbourhood and there were shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Bus stop to catch number 10 back to Astana's airport is just 5-10 minutes away on foot. I would stay again.

This hotel was a really lucky find. It's a new establishment and is very nice, even by European/American standards. The rooms are very modern and spacious. The hotel staff are fantastic! I don't speak Russian but we made do with Google Translator and a few laughs. There is one man who speaks fluent English but isn't always available. Neverthless, they're very friendly and happy to help in any way. One of the ladies even walked with me down the street to show me where to find a cash machine. The only negative I can say is the location. It's a little removed from the city centre but taxis in Astana are very cheap and the drivers are quite friendly too. If you can, ask the hotel reception to book taxis for you as you'll get a cheaper rate. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Astana. There's even a great Uzbek restaurant across the street that's open 24 hours.

Great Hotel! Super friendly staff (spoke little English but tried all they could to communicate effectively), amazing breakfast (really can't highlight this one enough), and extremely clean. Only reason I had to deduct some points was due to the neighbours (not the hotels direct fault but still a big -ve). We were located on the first floor and had a view on something which looked like the backyard of a messy. Tons of garbage laying around, scrap metal, etc. Which would have been ok since we spend little time in the actual room, but the owner of the junk also had a very loud dog. He would bark none stop (not at night though, he seems to have been locked away there). But really distracting if you want a nap in the afternoon or take an hour to relax and read something.

Great little hotel: friendly and helpful staff, a nice breakfast, very comfortable bed and room, excellent shower (continually topped up with toiletries), quick wifi, & cable TV. Located just off a main street, it's easy to start your sightseeing trips. There's also a supermarket a short stroll away. Great place, highly recommended. Next time I'm in Astana, I'll be staying here.
