Room a bit tired

The facilities are great, although they do charge extra to use them. Staff are terrible though, not helpful at all.

Room was tired, dirty and generally not in good order. Booked this hotel solely so i could use the pool after a long day on the road with work. Arrived to be advised it wasnt included and they wanted £14 for me have a swim. I had a matress cover that was too small squeezed over my bed making it bend up and become all out of shape ....wont be returning!!

Hairs in the food at breakfast. Fire alarm in middle of night. No communication from staff at all, we had to go find someone to ask if safe to go back to room. Staff generally unhelpful

What a great find. Cave Castle is a lovely hotel and the staff are amazing. I contacted the hotel a few days before with some requests regarding my wife as she has mobility issues. One was for the room to be on the ground floor or close to the lift and the other was for extra pillows as my wife has to sleep upright. When we arrived the staff on reception pulled out our check0in notes and informed us that everything was set up as per our request. The staff are warm and friendly as well as helpful. If you want a base for exploring this part of Yorkshire come here and you won't be dissapointed.

Beautiful scenery, and rooms were well presented. Couldn’t try the food, due to limited menu at the Courtyard bistro. But overall experience was good. Would be visiting again.

The staff on reception awful and unhelpful towards my disabilty .didnt offer any assistance into and within the building. Other guests helped me. The room was beautiful, but no emergency call system And no telephone in the room.it was the furthest room from reception and had to go.outside to get to it. Access to fhe block was ramped but too steep a gradient to get in independently.

Beautiful place from the outside, lovely space. Inside was dark but i liked it, some bits need modernisation, taps in room struggled to flow with the pressure being low. Pool area was nice and quiet and sauna was good. Breakfast was nice. Biggest downfall waswas music going on till 1am so i could ot sleep at all

Gym an extra £14 seems steep. Most hotels offer gym facilities at no extra cost

The room was very tired looking. There was no hot water to have a shower Badly in need of a refurb. On check in asked to pay again, not particularly a friendly welcome.

Super stay as usual. Rooms immaculate and ultra clean. Gym great. Staff always smiling and happy to help. Check in easy and pleasant. Super food and great choice.

Very pleased with my stay, the Gentleman at the reception was extremely welcoming - shame I didn't ask his name, but he was very kind and helpful, even though I arrived at midnight he gave me all the information about the hotel and showed me where my room was. He also stayed for another couple of minutes to make sure my card key is working and I'm in the room, safe and sound. Thank you!

Evening meal let the stay down. Also we were give a disabled room, mirror and sink too low and no shelf to put bathroom bag etc.

Lovely venue and historical features are fabulous. Heating an issue - in cold for a few hours in a really icy spell outside (Room 29) but working with Amy she mended the boiler after a while and room warmed up from 9pm onwards. Amy was very helpful - thank you. Breakfast was good and staff really helpful.
