Great location. One of the closest to JR station. The communal bath was accessible overnight.

The room was pricey for its appearance, and the dim light of the room shows the dust all over..and you should bring your own amenity.. Front staff was not that polite as you expected. We ask for a extra pillows, they told us to get it in the front desk.. The breakfast was also limited than you expected..You have to pay for your parking because they only give you ¥200 discounts for cars that height exceeds on their parking space.. We've travelled alot around japan areas, other hotel was better than this place..

Location-wise it is right next to the Niigata Station. Use the Bandai Square exit. The station is under construction till 2025 so it may look slightly messy but should not cause much trouble. The side street of the hotel has plenty of good local food options. The hotel has a hard 3 pm check-in rule, no matter if the rooms are ready. So at 3 pm there will be a line of people getting their room keys. In case you arrive earlier than 3 pm, you can sit in the lobby or let front desk keep your luggage. The more common experience is that if your room is ready, usually hotels will let you check-in a couple of hours early and if the room is not ready then you'll just have to wait. I don't understand the hard 3 pm rule at all.

A great value hotel in the perfect location! Right beside the train station and bus terminal, with a modern, recently refurbished interior. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with lots of variety and some really nice local dishes. Highly recommended!

Ramada Niigata is opposite the JR Niigata station. The breakfast is good. Walking distance to Bandai bridge and the Aeon and Loft shopping mall. I recommend this hotel for all its merits mentioned.

Fifth visit to Niigata, this Hotel is very convenient to Station but the twenty minute walk to Department stores and shopping district. Strict three o'clock check in. Room a little tired but still comfortable and clean. Niigata Station nearby has many shops and restaurants, however area around station ordinary.

Hotel is very well located, right opposite to the station with several convenient stores within short walking distance. Hotel itself is quite nice and comfy. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room is quite small as expected in most hotels in japan, but there was enough space for me to arrange my bags and suitcase.

I booked this hotel because I wanted a good hotel within easy walking distance of the station. It certainly met that requirement, being just across the road. It's also in the middle of a good shopping district, with a convenience store just around the corner. Reception is on the 2nd floor, where I was warmly greeted and checked in quickly and courteously. I was also given a token to use in the vending machines located on various floors. I had a single room on the 10th floor, which would have had a view if the windows hadn't been iced up in the ongoing snow storm (that's Niigata in winter). The room itself was quite compact, but had all the amenities I needed, The bed was comfortable and the free wifi was fine. The flat screen TV only had local channels though, and there was an electric hot water jug for tea (2 teabags supplied). The bathroom was quite compact, with a small, deep bathtub (Japanese style) but it met my needs. The hot water was very hot. The complementary breakfast was served in the restaurant on the 2nd floor and was a quite bountiful buffet, though with mainly Japanese dishes. The helpful staff brought me a knife and fork when I obviously looked a bit puzzled. If visiting Niigata again (I've been there twice before), I'd certainly stay at the Ramada, if the pricing policy remains as it is now. It's very competitively priced and compares well with other Japanese hotels I have stayed in.
