Love the staff. They tried their best to speak English, and are extremely friendly. We got a few things from the souvenir shop, which was great to bring as gifts for friends and family. The room was spacious. I book a remodeled room but the bathroom seemed a bit outdated. The food was fine for what they had. The relaxation room was great with free ice cream, soda and tea. Overall I am satisfied with my stay.

Enjoyable family friendly atmosphere. Great natural surroundings, including Tazawa Lake. Short drive from some other sites including Kakunodate’s Samurai District.

Beautiful location, indoor and outdoor onsen was empty and the large lounge with tea was nice. Breakfast offerings were good.

👍 Nice onsen and good buffet dinner 👎 Inflexible on issuance of additional room key. There was six of us in one studio room but was only given two keys.

Lovely location with hills surrounding the hotel. Great breakfast and dinner. It is a mix of Japanese and western (i.e. takes the best of both)

Excellent services and facilities. The room was so nice that separated into 2 parts western for bed and Japanese for tv /relax. Many-choices buffet and traditional show.

The indoor onsen was relaxing, however the outside was filled with spiderwebs and bugs. The elevator doors close waay too early nearly crushing my Inlaws and daughter. The room was generally clean but my sheets seemed stained and dirty. The bathroom tub clogged within 2 baths rendering it useless. The breakfast was average and had variety. Two good things i will say is the staff was friendly and helpful and the onsen amenities were great and varied. Overall 5/10

The hotel was close to a shrine on a hill. There was a gateball course on the hill at the back of the property. The only drawback was that we did not have a car and had to rely on the hotel shuttle service to go to town and elsewhere. The hotel had a nice onsen and delicious breakfast which included Japanese and western foods.

We picked Morinokaze which is ideal for visiting both Hachimantai and Nyutou Onsen area. Free and easy parking, Friendly reception, decent size twin share room, a little aged but clean and well maintained. Room toilet was small like common hot sprint hotels where most people would use the public bath facility which was nice, make sure to try both sides when they switch between the day. Our only let-down was having exactly the same dishes for its Buffett dinner over 2 nights while they do serve nice sushi and crabs. Last week was fairly crowded with tour groups during dinner time.

Have been using this hotel 2-3 times a year so the ratings are the same. Food is very good so as the hot springs. Unfortunately, we didn't get a room in the main building we enjoyed during the past 6 years. The front desk said they were full that night but the parking lot was much more than half empty and guests taking the hotel shuttle from the train station is apparently one digit a day.
