My main goal was to see the Maya Devi where Shakyamuni Buddha was born. Hotel Ananda Inn is just steps from the archway where the short walk to the Temple begins. Excellent service from the management and waiters from the adjoining restaurant where we ate all of our meals.

Yes Lumbini is mosquito kingdom but still you can enjoy your stay with a clean room w/hot shower, kind&friendly staff, delicious meal served from the restsurant on the ground floor.

The hotel was average at best. we made unknowingly a 3 X nights reservation. But everything can be seen in one day only which is not the hotel fault. It is simply just a very dusty place with very little to do or restaurants to go to. The location was good, just 50 m. away from the main gate.

Wow! By far the best hotel I stayed in while in Nepal. The best air conditioning for certain and it was needed for the very hot temps. Close to the gate to see the birthplace of the Lord Buddha and the pillar of Asoka. Nice little restaurant on site, friendly staff. Clean rooms. A little more money but we ll worth it!

On my Nepal trip, this was the most expensive hotel at 40$/night. It was also the worst. Yes, all the review sites and guides say that there is not much choice in Lumbini unless you stay outside of town and for that you need your own transportation. They are correct. Pros: 24/7 hot water, staff were great, and the bed was comfortable. Cons: the bathroom neeed to be thoroughly bleached and deconned- bring your own shower shoes; while the bed was comfortable, I slept on top of my silk sheet liner because the sheets, etc. were scary; the aircon was useless-it barely blew out tepid air and you needed the fan, the room was grimy and there were three smashed, dead insects on the wall. Your bottled water was not refilled each day. The staff did recommend that I leave early (0600) for the Buddist Park instead of going after breakfast because it would be cooler. They were right. I was done before 1000 and the staff kindly let me have my included breakfast late. The load shedding was continuous (mostly in the evening); about every half hour things would go off and then the generator would kick in. The hotel does have a nice selection of souvenirs at competitive prices.

Aside from easy access to Lumini, the folks at Hotel Ananda Inn were wonderful; inviting, supportive, and really, really helpful. Normally, I don't spend too much time in hotel restaurants but Maitri Restaurant attached to the hotel is really good. I'm sorry that there were some customers who wrote their disappointment, but bear in mind, they do make their dishes from scratch and the ingredients are fresh. Plus, you're in South Asia! The pace is going to be leisurely (which to many westerners might just be sloooow); leave the expectation of speedy service behind and enjoy just sitting in a nice quiet place. There's also a lovely garden you take your tea in, if you so desire. Also, they arranged a highly reasonable car to Kapilavastu. Top-notch. Altogether, my stay was very, very fine. If the kind people at Ananda are reading this, "hello! and thank you for a wonderful time!"

I really really enjoyed my stay here. Great location and very close to Durbar Sq and Thamel but not directly in the Thamel area (which is good). Hotel was set back from the street so very quiet. Room was clean and comfortable with warm shower, tv, wifi, air con and super comfortable bed. Room had a lot of light but also had heavy drapes if needed. Very easy to navigate from this hotel and there was a taxi stand about 30 meters away. The room and location were great but the employees made this hotel very special. Everyone was very attentive and always asked us if we needed anything. They were able to arrange any day trip or trek we had in mind. I greatly enjoyed my stay here and look forward to staying here again when i return.

The hotel is right next to a gate into Garden and very close to the bus station. Quiet room and comfortable bed, good shower. Pleasant helpful English speaking staff who offered advice when asked without being pushy. Made up a take away breakfast for us when we had to catch an early bus and checked we were up in time.

マヤデヴィ寺院に近いゲート5から徒歩1分、ツーリストバスパークからも徒歩1分の抜群の場所。It is situated conveniently, 1 min walk from gate5 to Maya Devi temple, and 1 min walk from the tourist bus park. スタッフは親切。Staff members are kind and helpful. レストランはネパール、インド、中華、洋風が揃っている、選択肢は少な目。Restaurant serves Nepali, Indian, Chinese & Western meals, though choice is limited. 残念だったのは、シャワーを浴びると、近くにあるトイレの便器も濡れてしまう点。The only regret was that when you take shower, nearby toilet cubicle gets wet either.
