Beautiful property. Clean apartments. Pool is clean and warm. Friendly staff. Kid friendly. Ensure you rent a care if you are at this property.

We chose this hotel/apartment because it has a fully stocked kitchen, beautiful location near the ocean, free parking, pleasant, and courteous staff and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and only 10–15 minutes car ride away. there is a supermarket about five minutes drive and a few bars and restaurants around. and on top of it, the daily price is reasonable.

Loved our stay there. So quiet and clean. The staff was so friendly. Would recommend this to anyone!

We were thrilled with this property for a family of four. The views from the penthouse apartment were incredible. Lots of space, super clean and anything you could need was in the apartment. You need a rental car for this area but it was so peaceful and scenic. Incredible walking trails right outside the complex. We enjoyed the spa amenities and pool every night! I would highly recommend Whales Bay!

Room and its amenities were great and everything was very clean. Parking was easy. All the staff were super friendly and communication was always quick and easy with them, before and during the stay. We had casually mentioned to one of them that we were on anniversary, and our last day they sent a gift basket for us as a surprise! Would definitely stay here again.

We had the penthouse room 301 and it was fantastic. It was modern, open, clean and bright with ample space. The view was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. There are only a couple of walkable food options, but it was worth it. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel. I was contacted the night before asking what time we would be checking in. It was agreed that we could check in after 1pm. When arrived at 3pm, the lady at reception said that the check in was from 4pm only. So we didn’t feel very welcome and it took ages to check us in as the lady wasn’t sure if our room was ready or not.

Absolutely the best stay we had in Portugal!

Lovely pool and nice apartment suite

Though the hotel grounds and apartments were lovely and clean, we didn't feel comfortable or welcomed. At one point were accussed of sharing the hotel pool/hot tub with outside guests and it was not the case at all. Instead of being asked first if it was the ase, it was just assumed without looking at cameras or seeing it for themselves. For that reason we definitely won't use this hotel again. It left a bad taste for us.

Wonderful property for families. An easy 20 minute drive from the airport, it’s located in a small village. Spacious, clean and modern apartments with a great pool. We loved it!

From booking to check out the hotel staff were friendly and helpful with all questions. The hotel was clean and so many amazing things to do.

Beautiful & affordable hotel, nice staff, very clean and calm environment

Clean and quite

Nice hotel with a beautiful backdrop in a quiet local neighborhood. The hotel is gated, so it feels safe, and there is plenty of parking. The staff was wonferful - always willing to help any way they could, however the desk is not staffed 24/7, so getting a hold of someone wasnt always possible. The room was spacious and well stocked, however not the most updated/new (coffee maker leaked water, microwave door stuck, ice cune tray was broken, sliding glass door to patio was very hard to open). The property had a lovely view and a nice infinity-style pool, however the other "amenities" were minimal. The gym was very small and some of the machines did not work, there was not an on-site spa as mentioned, and the hot tub and sauna were not working at the time. The only "extra" that was really available was the steam room type area. Overall, the location, view, and staff were lovely (very quiet area without much around - but there is a mercado, gas station, and a couple small local restaurants; not walkable. Ocean views walkable from hotel). The room was certainly sufficient but could use a few upgrades and the amenities were definately lacking compared to what was advertised. All that being said, our experience at Whale's Bay was good and we would stay there again - decent value for the money.

Great place to stay. Not crowded like Ponta Delgada. Is in a residential area, with a 2 minute walk to the shoreline. Nice area to walk along shore, a small ocean bay with a swimming within a 10 minute walk. Stayed on the second floor, they advertise you dont have a ocean view, but ocean was viewable as well a shore line to the west. Very clean, modern and quiet.

People are nice

The stay at this gotelnwss great. It’s locatrd near the beach, view from an apparent was incredible. There are all kitchen amenities that you wull need.

It was a welcome site after traveling and having the flight cancelled. It was so nice , clean, and comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. The night desk person was so VERY helpful. He deserves a raise.
