Boutique hotel in centre of local park. Some quirky features add character. Friendly staff and nice bar.. Very limited parking and no regard for disabled bays or apparent enforcement. Alternative parking is not free and a short walk away from hotel. My third stay and heating and cooling rooms remains a real issue. Freezing in winter, roasting in summer. Other gripe is that the bathroom door is frosted, except for a broad clear strip all around the edge meaning your room mate can see everything you’re up to and given the toilet is in the same space……..Have given this feedback to hotel and hopefully they’ll take it onboard

We booked two rooms for two nights and had a lovely stay. The hotel was charming and the staff were exceptionally wonderful! We also enjoyed the walking paths through the property and nearby park. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking is really poor, everyone was double parking on grass and in the disabled spaces as there is not enough space for guests to park. We had to park a 5min walk away in a public car park and walk back in the dark which wasn't a nice start. The corridors and decor in the room was a bit tired. We had a Park room and all the lamps in the corridor had been knocked and were either lopsided or broken off. The walls were also badly marked and needed a clear freshen up. The noise from other rooms coming and going was also very loud and we were disturbed mutliple times by other guests coming/going from their rooms in the same corridor. The room was ok, but on arrival was freezing cold too. The worst part was lifting the clean towel out of the shower tray and 3 small silver fish insects ran out and around the tray. The shower/bathroom area smelled damp and clearly it was as there were damp loving insects there. Generally just disappointed as the reviews and rating was 'wonderful' but the decor and experience didn't reflect that.

Lovely place, great decor inside and pretty surrounding gardens. The staff didn’t seem genuinely warm and welcoming, so more effort required there to make this a 5 star stay. Sunday roast was one the best I’ve ever had, lovely beef, loads of veg. Vegetarian breakfast was poor though.

We really loved our stay. Friendly helpful staff, lovely room (we stayed in the tower suite), nice breakfast and a few different bar areas for day and evening drinks. Would 100% recommend and will definitely stay again. Thank you to all of the staff!

It had been a while since we stayed here, check-in was quick, smooth, and the receptionist gave clear instruction and advised we'd get a bottle of wine as VIP, so we booked a table in their restaurant and said we'll have the wine with our meal. We went to our Tower suite, unpacked and went to relax a little on the sofa to find a few stains on the seat cushion, so didn't make use of the sofa. The bed area itself was pretty clean as was the bathroom, it was just like they'd forgot about the living area. Dirty wine glasses, clearly had remnants of red wine left in them with rings on the surface when picked up. Tea tray wasn't fully stocked, all of these little things were not like the usual high standards we'd come to expect. We mentioned this to the staff on the way to dinner and they couldn't have been more helpful, they cleaned the sofa and stocked the tea tray and left 2 clean wine glasses on the table (although the dirty ones were still in the cupboard). The lady was very apologetic and did get things sorted, thank you. Service at dinner was very slow but this was due to there being only 2 servers covering the restaurant and bar area, both of which were probably just a little too busy for them. That said they did a great job and worked their socks off to make sure everyone was happy. The lack of staff and cleanliness tainted what is ordinarily a fantastic stay at a great hotel. Such a shame.

Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Although there was an aircon in the room it was impossible to switch on. In the summer the room would probably feel very hot. Apart from that, it's a beautiful property in a lovely green area Breakfast was delicious and the staff super welcoming and friendly.
