The person at the front desk spoke English very well. This was one of the most unique (in a good way) properties that I stayed at. The room was spotless, and in the traitional Japanese style. It was very large and had a mini SNES with large TV. The window blinds were of the traditional so I woke up early. There is a game room with some retro games as well as a massage chair. What I liked the most about this property is that there are three semi-private onsens that can be used. They are public baths that have a locking door. I would definitely stay again if I come back to Kusatsu!

The staff at this property is top notch. My friends and I were welcomed warmly, quickly given recommendations in and around Kusatsu, and even provided a complimentary sweet milk, traditionally consumed after an onsen soak. The facility was very much a labor of love. The private onsens were clean, convenient, and absolutely rejuvenating. The public areas were intimate, clean, and provided retro video games and board games. We were even offered complimentary coffee at a coffee shop close to the coin laundry facility (Melbourne Coffee), which we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to use. Highly recommend this location for any visitors to Kusatsu onsen and can't wait to visit again.

The staff was really nice. We got free milk and it was only ¥100 for extra bottles if milk, which are a MUST when taking an onsen. We had a private onsen in our room, but there were also public onsen in the hotel! Everything was super clean and the hotel is located close to the bus-terminal.

Lovely traditional property in a good location in Kusatsu. A great experience with the onsen facility included. The owner could not have been more helpful and friendly, we loved it there. It was nice and peaceful as just outside the centre, but an easy walk in.

We really like this place. The property and room is like the combo of traditional Japanese and new modern layout. We definitely love the share private onsen. Although is 10mins walk from the town, but it's not a long walk. Furthermore it's out of the busy and noisy central district which is what you need when you have a relaxing holiday in onsen Town.

Very accommodating, excellent service and excellent room. Our room had our own tiny hot spring bath so it was really cool. Also the owner is super friendly, we left our luggage there before check in and they helped us carry it up into our room. It's about 8 min walk to Yubatake (aka the center Kusatsu tourist area). Facility wise, they have free coffee and water, the owner even gave us milk as present 😊 they also have a super cool game room where they have japanese (childhood?) games.

We could not have loved Eidaya more. The staff was incredibly friendly and very good at English, the hotel was full of fun things to do (including vintage video games!!), parking was right by the door, it was the perfect distance to walk all of Kusatsu, and the private onsens were a joy at night! An absolutely perfect weekend trip for our group of 7.

The rooms and hotel are very clean. Breakfast is also fantastic. We love traditional food. The owner is the most fantastic. We are almost missed the train. And the officer at the bus station didn’t help must. He is our hero that give right and good information that we can get the train and seats. We will be back. City and onsen are also fantastic. 👍😍

All I can say is I should stay more than 1 day! Great onsen with sulphuric minerals. Good location, 2 ways 10 minutes walk from centre but hey! Who is rushing? Near 7-11 and another convenience shop and cake shop and bus station.

Very warm hospitality showed by the owner, who went all the way out to help us suggest and reserve food places. Knows the local area very well and speaks very good English. Excellent lodging choice for staying at Kusatsu Onsen.
