Lovely charming old property, incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts, lovely grounds, probably the best pizza I've had in my life and fantastic breakfast! Lovely touches, like leaving cold drinks (alcoholic and soft) available in an open fridge for guests who come back in late at night, using an honesty system for payment. Room was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate coming back here again. Loved it!

Beautifully decorated and so clean, even the tv remote control. Breakfast was tasty and was self service from 7am - very useful for trades who start work earlier than someone on a leisure break.

Lovely old property with lots of character. Friendly, helpful staff. We stayed for a weekend before Christmas, the house was beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. Pizzas are great too. Very happy with our stay, a great start to Christmas.

We had a lovely stay in this very traditional hotel. The four poster bed was very comfortable indeed. The staff were so welcoming and very attentive. We had a lovely homemade pizza in the evening and a buffet breakfast next morning.

Hook House Hotel is a lovely, cosy place to stay and the service was excellent. There are some areas that could do with a little spruce up, but nothing off putting. The pizzas served at dinner time are delicious!

The staff were welcoming, cheerful and helpful. They were instantly available when needed and absent when not.The ambience is delightful having an old world, comfortable and unlike the cold, and clinical furnishing and decoration of many hotels is homely. The room was small but entirely adequate. Pleasant and peaceful gardens in which to roam.

This Property is a Listed Building and the condition reflects this - no double glassing or Aircon etc, a Period Building with Character. The Host: Goodness me, Absolutely Outstanding!! The room needed some TLC especially in the bathroom. Low Doorways as per the Character of the period of this building as well as Slopping Floors: Quirky. Breakfast: I was always taught if you can not say anything nice, do not say anything at all. So I wont. We would stay here again but go out for Breakfast. The Host makes up for any niggles with her Positive and infectious Manner. A Star!!

A country house with a warm welcome. Avoid room 3 because plumbing noise from 06:00.

We had a one night stay and were shown up to our attic room on arrival. Then the heavens opened and it poured! Unfortunately, the ceiling sprang two leaks, one by the television plug and one just by the door. It was very heavy rain indeed, with hailstones, thunder and lightning. Our hosts upgraded us to the king's suite (top right, first floor on the front view), which was much more luxurious and even had a four-poster bed. Breakfast was a good, full English. In the large room where we ate, there was an art exhibition, with various artists represented. Very interesting and the whole experience was enjoyable. We hope that the owners get the roof fixed soon but it probably won't be tested like that for a long time to come. Recommended.

We had a one night stay and were shown up to our attic room on arrival. Then the heavens opened and it poured! Unfortunately, the ceiling sprang two leaks, one by the television plug and one just by the door. It was very heavy rain indeed - so much so, that the local supermarket car park was flooded and the place that we booked for dinner in Hook became an island and closed for the night just as we turned up! So, it was exceptional rain, with hailstones, thunder and lightning.
