Best place in Newport

The property was just ok. Check in was smooth, our room was in the 8th floor. Elevators are super small, fitting only 3 people with luggage. Our room door was jammed and opening/closing it was so noisy and we had to push/pull hard to ensure proper closing/opening. The rooms are close to one another so you can hear others in their room. The gym was inconvenient and small, not a lot of equipment and some machines were broken. The property was ok, but nothing to rave about. When booking we thought it would be nice to be on an "island" but actually found this to be inconvenient and isolating. After exploring downtown Newport, we regretted not booking something closer to the downtown area with all the dining and shops. Lastly, Expedia said our room came with a $10 credit and the hotel said we could use this towards a snack at the cafe, but this never happened. For some reason the front register and the cafe next door didn't have systems that talked to each other. Not a big deal, this was more of a "perk" that didn't turn out to be true. If you're visiting Newport for the first time, I would recommend staying somewhere closer to the main attractions. If we come back to Newport someday, we will not be choosing this same property.

The staff was incredibly friendly. One of the security guards provided us with excellent recommendations for tours, water taxis, and restaurants, which we greatly appreciated. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were beautiful. We loved the views from the pool. Overall, great hotel and we will certainly be coming back!

Beautiful location and property. The food was very good, however the wait staff (at times) was subpar as they seemed short staffed and lacked proper training. The shuttle to the wharf was a nice touch, and the drivers were helpful in explaining key details about places to visit in Newport. The pool was lovely, had a great view and wonderful attendants. Overall, I would recommend visiting Newport Harbor Island Resort.

The resort was nice but one of the rooms windows had bird poop all over it and we asked for it to be cleaned when we checked in. It was not done until the next day and we were only there 2 days. The air conditioning was not working properly either and other guests were complaining about it as well. There was also kids running up and down the hallway at midnight causing disturbances. Unfortunately there was not a concierge to help with reservations or tourist information. The highlight was the torpedo restaurant for the family for breakfast and dinner. Great view and nice bar. The pool table , games room were also great for the kids

We were pleasantly surprised by this property. It’s a little bit of a walk to town, which is the only drawback. We would love to return.

When we arrived at 1 am, the property couldn’t verify with Expedia that we had paid for our room due to an error in their system. The worker attempted to charge us the full price to obtain the keys for the room, and she attempted to charge my credit card three times before my card company locked it. After 45 minutes, security escorted us to the room, but they wouldn’t give us the keys. The room lacked functioning air conditioning during the night, but it was fixed the following day. The next morning, they provided us with keys and offered us a late check-out once they realized we had paid for the room. However, it wasn’t until Expedia contacted them on our behalf that they refunded the resort fees and parking fees. Despite this, we still paid the full price for the room without air conditioning, resulting in limited sleep.

Exterior looks terrible. Looks old run down and dirty. Inside has been renovated and nice. Room was ready late. Should have had a 4 pm check in but didn’t get room until 530. At 845 in the morning housekeeping was knocking at our door asking us what time we were checking out. Outside bar area was great amd bartenders were great!

Unique hotel with tons of amenities. Staff was wonderful and the valet guys were fast. Food was delicious and it’s not far from downtown and shops.

The resort was beautiful!!! Stunning property. The transportation to and from downtown Newport is awesome. Restaurant is great and consenting. I’d give more stars but the resort lost my bag for a few hours and that was upsetting as we missed a reservation at a local restaurant.
