I chose to stay at Pier 49 because of the close distance of it from the Philippine Embassy, which is the main purpose of me going to Bangkok. If you're a backpacker and you wanted to stay in quiet but not far from any night life and shopping malls then it's the place for you. The place is cozy and clean, the doors have automatic lock and can only be open using your keycard, which makes me feel secure. The bed is good, big and comfortable enough to have a good sleep (I booked the mixed dorm type). You'll have your own light and charging port on your sleeping space. They have small cabinets inside the room where you can put your bags too. Breakfast is complimentary. But don't expect much. You'll find biscuits, toast, jam and butter. Coffee, milo, and tea, cereals and fresh milk- not bad, right? That's all I need. Plus while you're having breakfast, you'll find printed papers and folders on the table, which you can browse and will help you decide where to go or which place to visit or which tour to book. There are restaurants near the place (Korean restaurant, noodle shops, local Thai food restaurant). 7/11 is less than a minute walk away from the hostel, and they have ATM machine there too. BTS is less than 10 mins walk, but if you prefer taking taxi or motorbike to take you around, you can use grabcar, it's way cheaper. Shopping malls are near the area. Approximately 5-10 mins by taxi. If I go back to Bangkok, will I check in here again? Definitely "Yes".
