The Muthi Maya is part of a bigger, much bigger, complex in Khao Yai that also includes the Atta and Kiri Maya hotels.
The Muthi Maya pool villas are probably the nicest accommodation in the complex. They have high ceilings, come with a decent-sized private pool and jacuzzi, and offer privacy, as long as you don't opt for the garden view villas, which for some reason have their pools facing the road. The cons: if you don't come with your own car you will be pretty much confined to the complex. The gate is about 5kms away from the villas and you only get a shuttle service to the other hotels every 30 mins. There are no Grabs in Khao Yai so forget going outside for a meal. The Thai restaurant is pretty decent but the Italian and Japanese are objectively below par. Over a weekend we had pretty much tried the entire menu at the Thai. You can consume whatever you want from the mini bar, but that's pretty much limited to four cans of Pepsi and two bottles of purified water. The bedroom only has blinds, so if you are a light sleeper like myself, be ready to wake up at 6am. Last, the complex was staffed with pretty young people (possibly interns building up work experience in F&B) and while I sympathize with them, it would have been nice to have an adult in the room to help address some issues. All in all, there are several nice resorts in that price range in Khao Yai (Sala, Roukh Kiri, Intercon). I would most likely opt for one of them next time I visit.
