This is a family business, more like a B&B than a real hotel. That is reflected by the warm welcome and personal attention that every guest receives from this wonderful hardworking family. It is a new house built on the foundations of a historic dwelling -- the ground floor breakfast room has a glass floor through which you can see the old well. Our room was not large, but very clean and tastefully decorated. There was no balcony and no great views from its window, but the hotel has an exquisite front deck where you can sip your morning coffee or your evening wine surrounded by dozens of fragrant flowers. The hotel is located within the walls so, if you come by car, you should drive in through one of the old city gates disregarding all the signs that tell you not to. You'll easily find free parking on the street or along the historic wall. The entrance to the old fortress is only steps away and the tourist area with restaurants is within a 10 minutes' walk. Breakfast is fabulous, with lots of Greek pastry freshly baked by the ladies of the house. We spent 2 nights in Ioannina and we could not have chosen a better hotel.
