Room 1 is extremely small, but was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. There were too few staff. Service at dinner and the bar was very slow. Dinner wasn't as hot as it should have been. There was too much food on a small plate, I had to hunt under the chicken for my vegetables! Overall, it's quite expensive for food that although was delicious it wasn't hot and not served in a timely manner.

Nice old pub with helpful pleasant staff. However our evening meal was disappointing; we complained about the bruschetta which was just some large chunks of tasteless tomatoes on bread. Our room was ok but needed better cleaning (my wife had to dust the bedside tables). We also found the bed too hard - a mattress topper would be helpful. So overall not what we were expecting ☹️

Room was ok nice bed bathroom ok needs tlc and food was great drinks abit deer food drink 190£ ×2 but overall nice relaxing place no late drinks all in all 6/10

Cannot recommend highly enough! Decent room, excellent restaurant (very good value and great quality) and all the staff were relaxed and friendly which created a really welcoming atmosphere.

Although there was an issue with my booking on arrival (I had a confirmation but it hadn’t been received by the hotel), they were great about it and didn’t hesitate to get me a room organised. I was a late arrival and the kitchen had closed but again the team sorted me something to eat. The room was great and breakfast was fabulous. Highly recommended!

Location was beautiful, Check in was easy, The bar area and restaurant looked lovely as both areas had log fires roaring, and were decorated very tastefully for Christmas, which gave a lovely welcoming vibe, the room was spotless, bedding was of good quality, the room was very peaceful, with no annoying extractor fan from the bathroom, which you get in a lot of hotels, Also the room was nice and dark, which helped with a really good nights sleep. Evening food was excellent, as was breakfast, the lady we saw at breakfast both days was lovely, friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will be back for another stay hopefully soon.

Had a good stay couldn’t fault the staff and evening meal was delicious Where it’s not so clever is cleanliness of room Photo attached cobwebs and dust. room maintenance was poor wonky loose tap and bath panel water damage ,looked shabby Stair carpet had hole in it and just let the place down Breakfast was let down by black pudding and hash browns done to crisp . Had far better for less elsewhere Overall thought the inn was in need of some tlc. Would go again for evening meal but would consider stopping elsewhere. B

Lovely venue, beautiful location, excellent food and staff

Great one night stay. Very cosy atmosphere - especially near the fire. Great selection of doo and drinks and very friendly staff - would stay again.

Another stay at the Alma, it was my 50th birthday and they made me feel special. Room was great, shower was brilliant. Mark was really helpful.
