I had such a lovely stay at Oasis Hostel in Lanquín. The name couldn’t be more accurate…It really is a little oasis in the middle of nature. Sonia, Nelson and the whole team were honestly so kind, smiley and accommodating, always making sure I felt comfortable and happy with everything. The place is super peaceful, the food is tasty and generous portions, everything is clean, and the beds are good. I loved waking up to the sound of the river and the splash from the swing slide! And having my morning coffee on the dock, with nothing but the water and the jungle around, was just perfect. It’s also just a 5‑minute walk from the shuttle station, which makes everything super easy. I was supposed to stay 3 nights and ended up staying an extra day because I didn’t want to leave. Such a warm, relaxing place. Totally recommend it :)!!

The place was great while I was there. The first night was actually so quiet, there were more employees than guests. It’s a very pretty area along the river, great for relaxing. There is WiFi in the restaurant area, but it hardly functions. And it doesn’t exist at all in the rooms. The food is also a bit bland and feels overpriced for what it is. It’s just better to eat in town. It’s a fine area for getting to Semuc Champey. A must see place. But I would probably limit it to two nights here as there is nothing else to do here, unless you simply want a day of relaxing in the pool or river.

I can definitely recommend Hostal Oasis. We stayed there for two days and the staff was amazing. Erika, who runs the place, really saved us — we accidentally left our daughter’s insulin in the fridge after checking out, and she helped us recover it. We appreciate her perfect english. The food is good, and you can see they really take great care of the place. Overall, a very welcoming and well-run hostel.I can definitely recommend Hostal Oasis. The staff was friendly and the location was amazing! Does not have a kitchen but they sell coffee and food. Also the rooms are a bit musty smelling. The first one they gave us has mold but we informed them and they moved us to another room which was very nice!

Sonia and the team were super helpful and friendly during our stay. Beautiful views of the river and great place to chill. Was relatively social when were there. We were the only two in our shared dorm so basically like a private which was nice. They have a sister hostel in Semuc Champey (El Portal) as well with good happy hour deals for the area.
