This was a last minute booking and no other hotels had availability. Very old, not updated, and the most bare bones amenities. Tiny room with 3 beds crammed in, a desk, a TV, tiny bathroom with a door that would not latch shut, and a small space to hang coats. The beds were very hard and the pillows were terrible. It was an uncomfortable night, but it was fine for one night as a stop over. The breakfast was included and good, and the pub inside was cute with all very friendly staff.

Might be the area but expensive for how run down and small the room and bathroom were. Staff was kind. So loud and awkward trying to get to room through small bar.

This was the best little hotel we stayed in while traveling through Scotland. I was skeptical based on reviews. But it was an efficient hotel. No frills, not fancy, older hotel. Could it use a renovation? Yes. Did it bother us? No!! It was clean. Restaurant was traditional. The staff was super sweet and treated us like family. Very understanding when the Texan had no clue how to turn on a radiator! 😂. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! The experience was worth more than fancy furnishings and glitz. We highly recommend!

Well located and extremely friendly staff. Good quality for money even though the style was overall a bit old fashioned. The restaurant offered good food and was packed as also locals came there to eat. Also the bar was a great place to connect with some locals. Only downside is the noise from the other rooms as walls do not really isolate well. But this is probably due to the age of the building.

The old hotel pub and restaurant including staff were outstanding! The food in the restaurant was delicious. Everyone was incredibly friendly. For all these reasons, I return to this property!

Good location. The room was very basic but we spent a wonderful evening at the pub in the hotel with the staff and the people there!!

The breakfast was nice, but the hotel was noice, the room was stuffy and limited but all you need.

The staff were incredible! Helpful and kind. Very convenient to walk anywhere in Portree. Older building but very clean. Food was great

Hotel was a bit worn and the best was a rough sleep but loved Portree and the staff was nice. Walking in and out through a cloud of smokers at the entrance every time sucked though.

Lovely staff, just room are a little dated

The staff were helpful but the noise of the other residents was too much, it was so noisy. This place made me cancel the rest of my accommodation on Skye. The Highlands are better anyway.

The property was clean but the room could do with a complete upgrade. Very shabby.

Other than The Stairs (a common thing in older buildings) great little spot , staff were friendly and quick to help with any questions. Street parking wasn't easy but there was a long term stay not more than 5 minutes walk away which was good.

This place is right in the middle of Portree. I loved the staff and the location. The only reason I give it a 4 star and not a 5 star is the room was very plain and ordinary. It is convenient to everything around there, and the breakfast in the morning was excellent.
