Room was excellent and location perfect for Cheltenham races. Food (breakfast and dinner) and service great. Accommodation very expensive though and pub was very busy that meant our table for dinner was moved in to bar area and two main courses not available. However, we gave this feedback which was dealt with positively

Fantastic staff and service. The food was delicious on the Saturday evening and breakfast the next morning was also great with a really generous menu. The pub has a really cosy vibe and the log fire was roaring. Really popular so definitely book ahead.

We can't say enough great things about the Lion Inn! The room, the staff, the food, the ambience and the walking in the Cotswolds were everything we could ask for, and then some!

The hotel has been recently refurbished. The room was lovely and had its own access from the garden. The food was really good and the staff were brilliant especially Karyn.

Everything you'd want from a country pub in the Cotswolds. creaky wooden floors, real beer, glowing fireplace and great pub food (but not pretentious gastro-pub fare). and the room was amazing. We stayed in the Oakley, and it was perfect. super comfortable giant bed, lovely deep bath, and great shower room, with a very convenient motion sensor light that trips on in the night when you need a pee. Lot's of help if needed for local walks etc, and very polite and engaging staff. And Winchcombe is very pretty for a stroll, and very close to Sudeley Castle, and some of the more well known Cotwolds villages. Would very much recommend a stay here!

Everyone there did what we did and had their suitcases transported separately so they could hike Cotswold Way. Excellent vegan options for dinner and breakfast. Free drink upon arrival. Walking distance to Cotswold Way, the castle, and all downtown shops.

A very pleasant 2 night stay. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Food in the restaurant was very good. Rooms had been updated and were done to a high standard. Our room did become a little hot due to a sunny day and just windows to allow in the air. Breakfasts were excellent but at busy times I felt for the staff as they were definitely stretched though they did their utmost to keep everything going. Well done to them. We would stay again for sure.

Really lovely room - cute with sloping ceiling and nice touches. We had dinner in the pub that was excellent with great service. Breakfast was good - one course - would have been nice if there had been a cereal / yogurt and fruit option to start with, service at breakfast was a little slow - initially to be acknowledged and then served - we were the only people in the pub for breakfast. There was a problem with the shower - too hot / too cold and would not turn off. Told staff to be told there was a problem in the other rooms and the switches weren’t very good - which was a bit disappointing as it suggested they were aware. But overall evening meal and service more than made up for some slight disappointments.
