Dont stay here. The property is not in the location listed on Expedia. The beds are like a wood plank with a bed cover. The dust under the beds was thick and grimey. The photos are not recent. The owners are nice, but its not what you think youre paying for based off the photos.

Stayed 7 nights and it was perfect! A super hotel: immaculately clean, comfortable, quality furnishings, well centrally situated by the river. I had a room on the top floor, it was silent and nice view. Super breakfast, cooked to order. The staff were always charming and caring. The owner, Zhijun, was probably the most helpful and generous I've ever met in a lifetime of travel! He spoke some English, and used phone - translate when necessary. For it's size and price this little hotel must be top - rated in all of China. Very highly recommended.

The river views from room 208 were excellent. Beautiful river views and a stone bridge across the river. Nice breakfast with fruits, coffee, juices, tea, breads, eggs, fried rice, and dumplings. Close to shopping and restaurants.

We had a pleasant stay at Z-up. The hotel has a perfect location: 2-min walk from Xibu Street. The condition is comparable to a 3.5 to 4 star hotel. Two ladies cooked breakfast and prepared afternoon tea/snacks for my family. We were super impressed.

Z-Up is like a home away from home. The manager really took very good care of us. They helped us book the tickets to the parks and the shows and even lent us their personal mobile phone so that we can communicate with the ticket seller to pick up our ticket to the Fairy fox show. We booked the return transport with them since the show ended quite late and they picked us up personally to make sure that we find the car as the parking lot was full with many people. I’ve never had such amazing personalised service in all my previous travels! I will definitely recommend this hotel.

It was a lovely place: clean, comfortable, modern. Location is great. Staff was the best: friendly and helpfull. Breakfast options are mostly chinese, but there are some western options too. Great price quality!

This hotel is better described as a glorified bed & breakfast place where management tries real hard to give you personal attention. Be aware of how little we pay for daily rate to be more forgiving of their lack of certain basic amenities as phone in room and better housekeeping. Manager (Mr. Zhang) tries real hard to please, including helping us plan great visits to venues and arrange reliable rides. He worked tirelessly night and day. They also do a home cooking multi course tasty meal for a small fee which we enjoyed. Area is very walk-able and with plenty of interesting shops and restaurants, not to mention the river right across from our room. We had to leave super early for morning flight and he sent a care breakfast package to go with us. Thanks! Do NOT patronize the foot massage salon next to the hotel, a major rip off and con artist. It is NOT part of hotel, so enter at your own risk! If I had more time, i would turn them in to local consumer fraud unit.

We stayed at Z-up when visiting Zhangjiajie National Park. The property is impeccable and its location is perfect to wonder around town after seeing the park. Breakfast is abundant and included. The rooms are very roomy and have a beautiful design. Best of all was the staff: they were super helpful to arrange a late airport pick up, speedy check-in, super early check-out, and were always attentive of any need we might have had. They went the extra mile! Thank you!

This hotel is run by the friendliest and most helpful manager we have ever come across in China. He helped plan out our two-day itinerary in Zhangjiajie to make the most of our time there, arranging everything from transportation to booking attraction tickets to planning the best routes through the park. The room was very clean and comfortable, the wifi was reasonably fast, the breakfast was good and cooked to order, and the staff was friendly. The location of the hotel was only about a 10-15 min walk to the east gate of the park and right along the river with a beautiful view. Transportation to and from the airport or train station is only 100-120 rmb depending on time of day, considerably less than what taxi drivers in the area charge (it's a 45 min drive). We would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers coming to Zhangjiajie, and we will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Mr Zhang!

Extremely present stay. Not mentioning the well-positioned location, quiet surrounding, clean and well maintained building , the staff service is superb over most of the 5-star hotels. The staff even carried our luggage to the roadside and hailed a taxi to see us off.

Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit the 'Avatar' mountains at Wulingyuan. Rooms are spacious and clean (we booked a Deluxe room with a balcony), and quiet as they face the river. Hotel location is great - it is 15 mins walk from one of the main entrances to the national park and near restaurants. The owner really deserves a special mention - he took great care of us, giving clear explanations of walking routes/itineraries for each day, and is a fabulous cook! He made us a variety of food at breakfast, and we also stayed for home-cooked dinners on a couple of nights.

Excellent reception provided by the staff as I was greeted at the door upon arrival. The breakfast was prepared according to my preference and it was fantastic with 'home' feeling. Besides the superb location as the hotel was easily accessible to all places of interest, I would think the personal touch provided by the hotel staff was truly amazing. It was a remarkable overall experience and certainly worth recommending and returning.

The hotel was really awesome. It's clean and has all the bells and whistles of a western hotel. When we checked in, we had a free upgrade to a room with a balcony, which was pretty cool. The design of the bathroom is a little peculiar, by that I meant that there's no door or shower curtain for the shower, so some of the water splashes when taking a shower. Also, there's no door for the bathroom, so not much privacy to speak of. You get used to it after a while. The only thing that's confusing to us was the breakfast. The breakfast was included in our stay. I think the breakfast was half self-serve and half ordering kind. The self-serve part was the dishes on the counter. However, it wasn't clear what one should do since the plates were not positioned outward for you to take. Also, it was kinda awkward to take fruits as the staff stopped you and said they'd cut the fruits for you. And the ordering part I guess was asking them to cook you either noodles, rice, or dumplings. I think maybe a sign would be very helpful as to indicate what to do for breakfast, ordering or self-serving. Something like: please help yourself with the food items on the counter; the following items are available upon ordering: coffee, noodles, rice, and dumplings. Overall, a great hotel and I would recommend it to our friends.
