The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is rather tired. The choice at breakfast rather limited. However great for walking along the coast to Coryton Cove and easy walking access to Dawlish. Our sea view was blocked because we were on the ground floor. I am sure on higher levels you would have a view of the sea.

Oceans was very tired - on a hot night most of the windows didn't open and it felt 'grubby'. Right on the seafront though but with a railway inbetween

The curtains in the room could not be drawn properly as half the rings were not attached to the curtains. Not very good when there is a window opposite your room.

The rooms are dated however they are spotlessly clean and the staff can't do enough for you. We couldn't book the same room for our two night stay, at 10 before we had to be out of the first room, we were told our next room was ready for us. We would stay with Oceans again.

Booked 2 rooms as myself and my wife were travelling with my 79yr old mother All rooms stated as having shower and wheelchair access After one flight of stair we were led to a very narrow steep stairwell which was hard work for ant able bodied person, after climbing this to arrive at first room which was acceptable The second room was up a further stairwell which had a grotty old carpet dirty stained & disgusting. After making it to second room ,, it was fine inside but no shower .. (a very old bath) I put my mother in the top room because I dare not leave her near the top of the long stairwell Heating was on in the evening which was good but became quite warm The tried to open windows most of which didn’t work as they should or were sealed I woke up quite early to use bathroom & the electric had blown I opened the door to check outside and it was pitch black darkness ( this is at the top of a stairwell and the bottom of the other stairwell ) emergency lighting was not working Luckily I had my phone which incorporated a torch & went to check my mother ok and for her to stay in room for fear of the stairs in the dark Eventually after the electricity was sorted but that stairwell in pitch darkness won’t be forgotten. On arrival for breakfast which was self service we went to put toast in the toaster and a lot of the bread had some mould and some had a lot of mould on it which was very off putting . In all a disappointing experience & misleading info

Average place to stay. Although a serious lack of parking. Breakfast was served between 8-9. On a Sunday check out time was 10 am. And staff were banging on door wanting to get into room at 09-55.

The location was perfect, a five minute walk from the railway station, the waterfront and the start of Dawlish itself. This B&B has simple, clean rooms with shower, kettle and a good breakfast. I would happily stay there again.

Sea View Potentially beautiful building which has been neglected for decades . Very unclear from the atmosphere whether the place had been abandoned

the property suited our purposes for the weekend and we had no problems. Debbie was very nice and eager to please, we had a good breakfast and a comfortable nights sleep.

My Dad stayed here and said it was very pleasant. The rooms are a little dated and could do with a refurb but the views are fantastic and friendly staff.

No hot breakfast available. left to go home after one night. Very disappointed that these premises are allowed to charge for staying here. Damaged my knee on the extremely steep stairs to our room. Got charged for four nights only stayed one. Disgusted

Liked: quirky building with antique features & interesting history (once a gentlemen’s club & later a gig venue, we were told); location very close to pubs/ shops but also close to a quiet little cove. Didn’t like: steep stairs to our second-floor room; no window or fan to ventilate the ensuite bathroom.

The room was clean and tidy. All linen was clean. I felt that the previous review s were slightly harsh. The building and decor are very dated. Breakfast was cereal and toast. Which was fine. There was a lot on offer.

Dark, dingy, none of the windows in our room worked - all sellotaped shut. Bed had two mattreses on it (why) with a nylon duvet cover?! No wardrobe, just a clothes rail. Breakfast was awful, cereal , toast, over boiled eggs and no cooked breakfast. And we paid extra for a “comfort” room. What would a standard room be like!!! Only positive was that the shower was good. Seriously overpriced compared to the competition. could not recommend this b&b.
