Expedia Group verified review

We were not expecting luxury for our stay but we did expect it to at least look a bit like the pictures on Expedia. However we were very disappointed to find the photos are very misleading. We arrived to a grubby, outdated flat with a strange odour. It was nowhere near the images on the website. I did relay my dismay to the owners but the reply was that we had got a good deal for our £100 because other hotel rooms were selling for much more. They also said that they had 9 properties and couldn’t post photos of them all. However my issue was that the photos are misleading and this was not what we were sold on Expedia. I will be fair though and list some positives. The flat was well equipped with a dated but fully functional kitchen with a coffee machine and nice kettle and toaster. The crockery and utensils were plentiful and there is free Wi-fi. There was also coffee and tea supplied as well as toothpaste, chocolate and deodorant. It is in a more residential area but it is well located for the west end and seemed like a quiet area. The self check in and out was easy enough. The towels and bed linen were very clean. If I had known what the flat was like I probably wouldn’t have booked it as it wasn’t really wasn’t what I was looking for. I do think it needs to be much clearer about what flat you are actually booking, especially if there is such a huge difference between them so customers are not mislead. I feel the flat was totally mis-sold.
