We stayed at Casa Lirio for 9 nights as a family of three (including our 2-year-old), and overall had a fantastic experience.
What we loved:
- Location: The hotel is in the Gothic Quarter, with excellent access to transit and major sights. That said, if you’re not familiar with historic European city centers, the narrow streets may initially feel like “alleyways”—but this is part of the charm and character of the area.
- Service: Raul and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which made a big difference over a longer stay.
- Cleanliness & comfort: Daily housekeeping was thorough and very much appreciated.
- Shared spaces: We made great use of the kitchen/coffee bar and especially the large, sunny terrace, perfect for relaxed mornings with a kid who has a lot of energy to burn off.
- Family-friendly touches: Our toddler loved the toys provided (kitchen set, rocking horse, ride-on motorbike). This was a thoughtful and unexpected feature.
Things to be aware of:
- Noise at night: There are a couple of clubs nearby on C. Sant Francesc, so you may hear people passing by late at night. Ear plugs are provided but light sleepers may want to prepare accordingly.
- Amenities: The hotel provides a combined hair & body wash; would be nice if as eparate conditioner was also provided.
Overall: A great option for families looking for a well-located, welcoming stay in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, with a few minor trade-offs expected of the area.
