Loved this hotel! Was the best they provide complimentary breakfast and they have a coffee/tea machine we can use 24/7! I loved having endless lattes lol. The best thing was my husband is gluten free and one night we arrived back around 6:30pm and didn’t want to go out to eat. We bought food as we bounced hotels and guest houses hoping to cook. after dinner was served the lady let us use the kitchen to cook gluten free pasta! It was very nice of her to allow us to do that. The service here was 10/10 I would definitely stay here again! And the hotel views of the mountains are amazing!

Self check-in instructions were communicated ahead of time and the process was smooth and convenient. The room was clean, bright and airy. The mini fridge in the room was a nice convenience and the WiFi worked well. The view from our room was fabulous! We had a field of lupine and a small pond that hosted several bird species right outside our window. We could also see snow-capped volcanos and the Seljalandsfoss waterfall in the distance. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is central to Seljalandsfoss (waterfall), Landeyjahofn (ferry dock to Vestmannaeyjar), and the town of Hvolsvollur (food, gas, grocery, shops and the Volcano and Earthquake Lava Center exhibit). Hotel Selja is a hidden gem and I highly recommend staying here!

Very nice hotel. It's in a rural area, so not close to any restaurants (15 minute drive away), but they cook a nice dinner upon request. And great breakfast, too. It's well located to visit many waterfalls, Westman islands and parks.

The hotel stands completely on its own with the hills in the distance along with a waterfall. It was very quiet. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The breakfast was good with waffles being a nice surprise.

Hotel Selja sits alone in a vast, flat landscape with stunning views. You'd not think much of it when driving up to it, but once inside, you're greeted by warm staff members and cozy, bright rooms. The rooms were very clean and nicely appointed. We had a very yummy dinner there served on short notice and received with much gratitude. The breakfast buffet had everything we could want to start our day - it was delicious. It's a perfect overnight location for catching the early morning ferry out to Heimaey Island. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Quiet and clean hotel! We stayed here for a few nights while we explored the golden circle and the southern coast. Perfect midpoint.

Arrived for my one night stay here, and my key was ready for me at the front desk. Breakfast was delicious (waffles, bacon, eggs, fruits, deli meats/cheese, cereal, etc.). My cat battery actually after I checked out, and the front desk staff lady gave me a jump. Loved my stay here and how homey it felt.

This hotel is off the road and quiet from traffic. Have to drive into town for food, only place nearby was the welcome center, had small deli type food.

We stayed one night at Hotel Selja during our South Coast adventure and it was great. The fact that it was relatively close to the locations we wanted to visit was the main reason why we chose it, and of course, the free breakfast was also 👌

Great spot in a remote area. The front of the property is very unassuming. The reception was always staffed and check in was quick. Rooms were good. Bathrooms were of an average size, but smaller compared to western hotels. Breakfast was convenient and tasty. Good spot that I would recommend to travelers.

Appears to be family owned. New building, with fresh decor. Breakfast was get especially for such a limited number of rooms.
