The lobby and decor are lovely andnon point.
The staff all were nice.
The little coffee shop is charming.
The rooftop restaurants is definitely a draw for people. However its not enough. The room was not clean. There was toothpaste splattered around the sink, dust, and stains and spots on furnishings. The rug was so worn we kept tripping on the strings and had worn through to the adhesive.
The bed was nice and soft, however we did not sleep due to yelling and fighting that would erupt throughout the night. Even on the 8th floor it was loud.
We had previously staying in the smaller cozy rooms and decided to give the upper floors and bigger rooms a try. I understand bigger does not mean cleaner but the mildew smell was so overwhelming that my husband who never smells anything wanted to open a window.
The place is charming and for many the rooftop and overall vibe will be enough. I felt it fell flat and did not deliver on the hospitality details to go with the overall vibe.
The area around the hotel is a bit down and out, however just a few blocks away you are in the Pearl District.
