Another good stay

Perfect base to travel around the area, but not stuck in a city centre. The comfort and security of home with lovely staff to cater for your needs. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I'll shall returning.

Welcoming host and lovely breakfast highly recommend the food we really enjoyed it. Excellent value for money. The property is tired in places and our room was spacious rm4 again tired and needed attention to detail for example loo seat, didn't flush property and housekeeping needed attention saying that however for what we paid it was a, fair reflection on what we received. Wouldn't put us off a return.

The food at The Walnut Tree is excellent as is the service and the staff. The hotel is showing its age a bit in the bedroom but it was nonetheless very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room and the water in the bathroom were both very warm. The restaurant is worth a visit even if you’re not staying overnight.

The walnut tree was a beautiful place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was beautiful. Absolutely lovely, spacious room. Would definitely book again.

Very comfortable stay here, lovely spacious room (just a basic double) and good size bathroom. A little tired looking in areas however clean and comfortable, can’t fault it. Staff are friendly and helpful, excellent WiFi, plenty of parking. We ate evening meal, it was a Sunday so roast dinner and it was lovely. Varied menu for Mon to Sat, good choice and reasonable prices. Breakfast was varied and excellent quality. We will most definitely stay here again, great value for money.

Only stayed one night but the room was clean, warm and very comfortable. I had dinner in my room which was lovely and hot, presented well and really tasty. All staff were really friendly and eager to help. Will definitely be coming back

The cleanliness of the hotel couldn't be faulted. The hotel seemed to be understaffed. We booked a table for dinner on Saturday 15th Feb. The woman behind the bar gave us menus. Then proceeded to ignore us and avoid eye contact for 25 mins. She cleaned the bar and removed glasses rather than take our food order. When i asked if she would take it, she replied she'd be with me in 2 mins with a scowl! Needless to say we left without eating. It was very poor service. We managed to get a last minute table at The Compass Tavern restaurant down the road. The food and service there was prompt and excellent.

Issue with car charger, reception empty on arrival, bar and food service seemed slow however this is due to not enough staff, staff present worked hard and efficently
