The Grand Diamond Hotel grounds are clean and well-maintained, with clean and spacious pool facilities. The deluxe twin-bed rooms are also well-maintained. The hotel's old feel is not noticeable due to the well-maintained rooms. The breakfast menu is quite extensive and delicious. My family loved it. Perfect for a staycation in dynamic Yogyakarta. Very comfortable. Great value.

The room was clean, even though it's an older hotel. Keep it clean, because a clean room makes for a more comfortable sleep.

My first impression of staying here was that the moment I entered the hotel, it felt great. The staff was friendly, the room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was also clean. The breakfast menu was very varied. Children over 5 years old are charged an additional Rp. 50,000 for breakfast, but it was worth it. It's really cool ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Overall, it's pretty good, except for the toilet. The water on the toilet floor takes a long time to drain, making it look clogged. The toilet flush also has to wait for a turn before being used. Hopefully, this will improve.

Everything was okay except the problem with the access card that appears often (can't be used for lift and room access). Access card needs to be fixed. Otherwise, room and food were good, and the staff is very helpful and polite.

I checked in on May 30, 2026 at 8:00 PM, and was served friendly, and there was still a welcome drink even though it was already late. My room was special. I got the back room 629. Although this corner is actually a blessing because it has two windows. The left side has a pool view and the right side has a mountain view. For the pool, there is a fun ping pong table for playing ping pong with the kids, and there are birds, fish, and chickens around the pool. For breakfast, there is a variety. Unfortunately the first day was full, so I got the one at Serayu Chinese Restaurant. It was quiet, but the food wasn't much to choose from. On the second day, I had breakfast at the bar. Wow, great. There was so much food. There were chicken noodles, omelets at the takeaway, there was rice porridge, and various other things that made it special. The waiters went around to offer coffee/tea. It's rare to find a hotel like this. The only downside is that the bathroom takes a long time to drain (both the floor and the bathtub), so if you take turns showering, you have to wait 10-15 minutes before the water in the bathtub is empty. Overall, it's great.

It's great, but it's a non-smoking room so you can't smoke.

This hotel is recommended for those visiting Yogyakarta. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although older, but well-maintained. The breakfast is delicious and the parking is ample.

Recommendations for family staycation

A very comfortable hotel! In terms of the building, it seems like an old hotel because of its old-fashioned style. But the facilities and service are very good, the staff are helpful, there are plenty of chairs to wait in the lobby, and the service is fast, because I happened to check in with a group. For those bringing children, the hotel is very child-friendly, there is a playground, there are animals (although only fish, birds, and chickens), a garden, and a swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the rooftop is easily accessible. There is also live gamelan, informed every weekend morning. The breakfast is also delicious and varied. Maybe I will come back again someday.
